I went and the living atmosphere was really a positive thing. I felt comfortable there and that is one of the main reasons I chose it. The people appeared to be enjoying their jobs. There wasn't any tension going on anywhere. We were told that there were five other doctors who had their mothers there, which was a big sign to me that it has to be very good. I want to start with independent living, and be in place for assisted living. The dining area looked like a restaurant, and it had lots of tables and chairs. It made me feel good. I liked what I heard about it, and that tells me this is a healthy place. The staff member was friendly, pleasant, and perfectly polite to me. It's only two miles away from where my son and his family live. I was impressed with the size of the one-bedroom apartment -- the deluxe especially -- that was my favorite choice. I also liked the fact that there were a few trees there, and on the north side of the building you have a view of the trees.

It is a very nice and beautifully-decorated facility, and everybody there was extremely nice. They offered rooms that were above my price range, so I didn't pursue it. It's a three-leveled building, and I wasn't pleased that the room that might have been suitable for my mom was not on the main level, and she would have taken an elevator up and down every day to get to the main floor where the restaurant and all the activities took place. The representative answered all my questions and gave me a very nice tour, so I was still pleased with the facility,; it just was not suited for my need. They offered three meals a day, a beauty shop on-site, and a laundry facility for bedding and towels, and my mom would have been responsible for her own personal laundry.
