When I visited Eagle Pointe Place, the appearance of the place was very nice. The people we met were just lovely, and you could see that they were renovating different apartments. The upkeep on it looked very nice.
The apartment was bigger than we thought it would be and appointed. We were very surprised that it was a two bath and 2-bedroom. We went for the two-bedroom unit, and we were very surprised that there was also a 2-bath unit.
The staff was very knowledgeable. He was very nice and very thorough.
We did not eat there. Their menu is wonderful, they point out all the meals that we're going to be served for a month. The choices for the food were fantastic.
There were some gentlemen playing cards. There were some ladies also in that same room, and it looked like they were doing a little book review or something. They looked very, very active.

The past year has been a difficult one, but staff has worked hard to ensure everyone was safe and happy. The place is clean, welcoming and fun. I highly recommend it!

First I want to say the building is beautiful, the services they contract for are great. The apartments are ok.
Please make sure this is a fit for your loved one.
The management of the property is awful. The Enlivant Company. Lots of staff turnover. Seniors will not thrive in this environment in times of Covid.
My mom was there from June 18th to October 24th. Her cognitive abilities declined markedly. Her weight dropped 15lbs. The food was not good. She was in independent living. She had a UTI in early September and they would not let me, a nurse, in to see her and evaluate her. They did not offer any assistance with her antibiotics because on the Independent side they don't do that. I could hire an agency person to do this. You can't get an agency that quick. She became worse 2-3 days later. They knew she was sick and confused, as happens with the elderly with UTIs, the ER nurse called them report the first time I took her to the hospital. It took another 2-3 days before they even offered to step in and help, only because I made a lot of noise. I took her back to the hospital and they admitted her. She ended up in the hospital for about 5 days on IV Antibiotics. The day after she was admitted they called me at 11 am to find out where she was. Really!!! The director at the time knew I took her to the hospital. Communication is very poor. Still is. They told me they were working on that.
The last straw was when the new director went into my mom's apartment and removed her dog to her office because the dog was barking while my mom was at lunch. I understand that the bark was annoying but they should have told her and asked for permission. This was the first time this had happened since she moved in. She was frightened when she came back to her apartment and her dog was missing. My mom is 88.
She was basically evicted the Saturday before she was scheduled to move because I took her to get her hair done. The rule was if you leave the building then you must quarantine for 14 days. I was taking her to my house on Sunday afternoon to stay until her new place was ready. I had notified the front desk of both events earlier in the week. On Saturday they told me if I took her I could not bring her back. They knew she was leaving Sunday permanently. They said I didn't get permission from the director. No one told me I needed to. Felt like retaliation to me for her moving. They would not let me get clothes or an overnight bag until the next day she was scheduled to leave permanently.
Luckily I had dirty laundry I could wash so she had clean clothes. I bought her a toothbrush.
A little about their visitation rules.
We were allowed 30-45 min visits with her outside while she was there, as long as they were not in a lockdown due to Covid exposure or a positive Covid test. Their attempt with isolation of these elderly people did not keep Covid out. They had many cases just about 7 days after she moved. I know this can happen anywhere but their rules and regulations for isolation didn't work.
She is now someplace I can go into her apartment a few days a week. She has gained weight. Food is better and she is now laughing and joking. This place was not a good fit for her.
Maybe it's ok in normal times, but not during this pandemic.

Eagle Pointe Place is very fancy, but it's too large. If you have any problem like arthritis in your hip, it's just too far to go from your room to other areas of the facility. You'd have to use an electric wheelchair just to save your hip from getting arthritis. It would just be too hard to get to the dining room every day. The person who gave me the tour seemed very nice. She showed me the pool, but it looked green. I asked her how often they cleaned it, and she couldn't tell me. Everything else was clean. They could improve on being more knowledgeable, making sure the pool is clean, letting people come when there are activities going on, inviting somebody to sit down for a meal, letting visitors talk to a resident or two, and being more friendly.
