We toured The Summit at Bettendorf. We saw some of the memory care and some of the others, but independent living is what we were interested in. I was very impressed with the community. The independent living apartments are especially nice, with larger square footage than some of the others. You get more bang for your buck kind of thing. The activities and the socialization possibilities are better. The physical activity possibilities are top-notch with free classes. The physical director handles everything as far as activities and gives them exercises to strengthen certain things, and I love that. I also love the fact that they could get their meals any time of day, and they weren't stuck with whatever the meal of the day was. They could pick off a menu and it's included with the monthly fee. If they were gone in the middle of the day or the evening and they missed the main meal like they would in some of the other places, they wouldn't have to worry about it and they could just get it whenever. It's lovely. It's very clean. The staff is very courteous and helpful.
