The Plaza at Kaneohe was nice and new, but it was very high priced. The staff was friendly. The rooms were basic, and they were unfurnished. You had to supply pretty much everything. There were very few activities that I saw when I went on my tour. They had a salon and a small area that had books. It was clean.

The Plaza at Kaneohe is different from living in a private place. It is so restrictive, you have to sign in and out as you leave the property. They have people that are independent, like myself, and I have nice quarters, while my wife needs assistance and her quarters are nothing but a bare room. The staff is wonderful. It doesn't matter who it is, whether it's the cleaning personnel or assisting personnel, they are wonderful people, and they treat everybody nicely. Since this is Hawaii, there's a lot of Asians, and a lot of their food is directed towards them. For instance, there's rice at all three meals, and I'm not a rice person, so I don't really like that, but otherwise it's alright. They take people on trips to various places on the island. They also have what they call living rooms, and there's a lot of puzzles and many books and all that type. There's a physical therapist, doctors that come in, and a full nursing staff for everybody.
