My mom is on the wait list at Smyrna Towers. The staff was great with her. I love the location. I also like the management staff and the cost of living. It's an income-based community. They had a beauty salon and transportation that came several times a week for those who needed assistance getting to the supermarket, mall, and doctor's appointments. They also have a fitness center and monthly activities for the seniors. They cook their own meals, so each apartment has its own kitchen, which provides a stove and a microwave. They have washer and dryer connections. They have a laundry mat on site as well for the seniors to use.
Being that it's an older community, it does have a modern touch to it because it has LVP flooring throughout, so there's no carpeting in the apartment. The facility is very clean, from the lobby area to all of the amenities as well. It's not a gated community, although you have to use an access card to go into the facility. The parking area going into the building should have been gated. I would prefer it if they had more amenities, like a pool.

Smyrna Towers is completely independent living. There are no meals and no hair care. Mom seems to be satisfied with the staff. Her apartment is not handicap accessible. If she ever needs access to handicap things, it will not be an option. The residents are responsible for cleaning their own apartments. They have a common area and it's got a fireplace. They have a little common area for gardening, and I believe they have shuffleboard out back and things like that. They have a gazebo. The facility is well maintained. They have a bus that can take them to the store on particular days, but they provide no meals or anything like that. They have laundry facilities on each floor, but the residents are responsible for doing their own laundry. They don't offer that service.
