My aunt has moved into Spring Haven Retirement. We chose it because she had looked at it previously. The price was what worked for her. She is starting in independent. We like this because she could progress to assisted or memory care if needed. So without having to change location, she can progress to different levels.
I've only been there a couple of times moving my aunt in. It could use a little more cleaning, but we just went through a hurricane, so it's understandable that they haven't been able to get to everything this week. So far, my experience has been positive. They've been very helpful. They have a lot of activities; she just doesn't participate.
They have the pool, they have a lot of activities, they have puzzle rooms, and they have church services. They have two different dining rooms conveniently located. Transportation is provided, and shopping trips and day trips are provided. There's a lot that they have to offer my aunt, she just has not learned to use them yet.

We toured Spring Haven Retirement. They gave us a tour of the whole thing. The independent living looked like it's going to fit my mom's needs for now. One of the things is that they can go from independent to the assisted fairly easily from there. It was great. It was above expectations. The staff who assisted us was great. The person that we originally were supposed to do the tour with, I had to change the time, so she wasn't able to do it. But this person did, and she was very pleasant. We really enjoyed her being the one that gave us the tour, even though there were some things she had to look up, and didn't know all the answers to. It was fine; it was good.
We were there around lunchtime, so some of the activities were not going on. What was really nice I thought was they have an activity pool there for people to get in. I don't know if my mom will utilize it, I hope she would; I think that would be good for her. But they have game nights, and they have exercise rooms, things like that. It looked like she would not have a problem finding things to do there. The rooms were clean. One room we were in was being renovated, so obviously it's in a little bit different condition, but it was the only one that they had vacant. It was one of the efficiencies. My sister really liked the layout of the bathroom. My mom sometimes has some issues falling, and it seemed like it would be a lot safer than her current house. They've got plenty of handrails and built-in sit-down thing for the tub and all that, so we really like the efficiencies a lot. They were clean, they were good. I like the layout. Another positive is the fact that they allow pets. My mom has a cat, and so that was a very much a plus.

I toured Spring Haven - Winter Haven Senior Living, and it was not a place I would want to live. It's too institutional. It looks very nice on the outside with the landscaping, but as far as the actual facility, it was too institutional. They looked very drab, and it was a very, very depressing place. I didn't like it at all
The apartments were very dark, the paint was just a dark gray color, and the carpeting was a dark brown. They were just very gloomy apartments, and very dark.
They have to improve on the decoration. Even in the hallways there were no pictures, nothing to make it pleasant looking. Although, it was clean enough.
The staff member did her job. She was very informative and very friendly. She was OK.

My father moved into Spring Haven Retirement. So far, so good. We chose it because it was convenient, the person who gave us the tour was nice, they seem like good people, and they seem friendly. It's a nice and clean facility. Everything is included, like three meals a day, so that was good. They have a pool and a room where they play games and socialize, and they take people shopping and to doctors' appointments, which my dad didn't need because he still drives. But when the time comes, at least it's there when he needs it. I know they have a lot of activities, even though he hasn't participated in any yet.

We visited Spring Haven in Winter Haven. They had a swimming pool, exercise room, and a lake next to the facility. They also drive you to doctors appointments and shopping. The layout of the apartment was nice. It was a one-bedroom, with a living room that was 12x17, and the bedroom was 11x12. They had a kitchenette, a bathroom, and walk-in closet. Total square feet was probably about 600.

Spring Haven is very nice, but they don't have transportation to the VA. However, they're remodeling the place, and they have a really nice pool, so it looks very nice. It's a very country-like setting. They have walking trails around the lake, and they have several activities listed on a daily sheet. The staff who assisted me was very nice.

My parents are at Spring Haven Retirement. The meals are taken care of. It is a friendly place, and it seems like they are well taken care of. Their staff is good; they're pretty much on to what they need to do. They check things out, and they are available and if you need to talk to them. It is a very good place. It is a nice two-bedroom apartment. I have kind of checked around to see if we could find anything more affordable, but everything else around Winter Haven is not even two-bedroom -- and no kitchen. Their facility is good because they have two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. They seemed pretty happy. They play games, play cards, and do puzzles, but because of COVID they are kind of limited as far as getting together.

Spring Haven Retirement has all levels of care all the way up to memory care. My wife is in the independent living unit. Everything has been working out fine, so far. The apartment is very good and adequate for what my wife needs. I have already recommended this facility to someone.

Spring Haven had a nursing facility attached to the independent living side. The lady who guided our tour was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and provided the information we needed, so we were quite content. They had quite a number of activities and a nice dining hall. The rooms we looked at seemed to be OK. They had community transportation available for doctors' appointments.

Spring Haven Retirement is a larger facility and also much newer. Also I noticed, you may have to walk a long way down long halls to get from one place to another. It made me think that if you have congestive heart failure, COPD, or asthma, that could be a problem for you because you have to walk long distances. Their accommodations looked pretty good to me. The staff was very good. Everybody that we run into was very helpful and friendly. They seemed to be conducting themselves in a professional manner. People who live there seemed to be very happy.

Spring Haven had nice apartments. They had a buffet breakfast and lunch. It was very nice. The only thing negative about it was that they had very long narrow hallways. The people seemed friendly.

We are now at Spring Haven and everything is just fine. We chose this place because the apartment is spacious and comfortable. We also like the dining room. I would recommend this place.
