Brookdale Chambrel Pinecastle was very clean and very well maintained. The apartments were very nice, and the community was very active. It had a very homey atmosphere. The apartment that we saw was spacious for what my uncle required, and it had a small kitchenette. The restaurant there was exceptional. We had lunch and it was good. I was very impressed with this place. The staff calls their residents by name. While I was there, one of the residents had not been out all day, so they were checking on her, making sure she was OK.

We looked at Brookdale Chambrel Pinecastle. It was nice. I liked it. The staff was very friendly. The people there were very friendly. It had good amenities, and it was affordable. The dining was a little more like a cafeteria, it wasn't as nice, it looked more like a ballroom in a hotel room. They had activities, a weight room, and a pool. They had group classes, and they had a game room. They had lots of different kinds of activities from crafting artsy to physical exercise. What was appealing about it was that my parents wouldn't have to move again, they could just stay where they were, and they bring the services to you.
When we went there, it was a Saturday, and we ended up meeting with the catering manager, who wasn't the person who was supposed to give us a tour. But she had agreed to give us a tour because we were coming on a Saturday, so she was lovely and informative. What my mom didn't love about that place is some of the apartments were a very far walk to the elevator. If you didn't get one that was near the elevator, it was a long hallway to get to the elevator, and so she thought that could be an issue for my dad.
It was very affordable. I liked that my parents could age in place for the most part, that they wouldn't have to move anywhere if they needed a lot more services. For my parents, it was close to their friends because they lived not far from Ocala. It was the second one that my mom saw, and she was not having this whole assisted living stuff. She just felt like it was like living in an apartment, so she had a hard time wrapping her head around that. It's nothing against the facility, that was just my mom.

I like Brookdale Chambrel Pinecastle. It probably would be my #1 choice because of the price. I think they're a little more within my price range. The food was very good. We couldn't eat in the dining room because of Covid when I was there, but they packed us a lunch to take home and it was very good. In general, I liked the friendliness of the person that took us around and the studio apartments were very nice. The residents were doing very well. They seemed happy and satisfied and involved in conversations and exercises.

We visited Brookdale Chambrel Pinecastle. We were trying to do just senior living, but they are a little different because their senior living is with assisted living, so everything blankets under that. Even when you are not in the assisted and you are just in the independent, they share a lot of the same facilities, and they are under one roof with each other a lot.
We went there the same day we went to the other community. The staff brought us into the apartment on the bottom floor and I thought we were just going to have another tour like the one with the other facility, but because they're assisted, they could not let us tour and she could not tell me that until we got there. She brought us into the sliding closed door of that one apartment on the bottom floor. It was very nice, it was a model, and it was super good looking. But after we looked at that, I wanted to check the whole facility and she said we could not because of Covid. She didn't even tell me that before we got there. The lady was very nice and super professional, but I felt like they were more like salespeople, so it felt like I was just talking to a used car salesperson. I then felt like they're just not completely honest.
The apartment that we saw was extremely nice, but it was professionally decorated, and it was supposed to be a representation of what they have available. However, we were not able to see anything other than that one apartment. It is not such a bad place; it looked very nice. I know that there were defects with the model, and the lady was kind of funny about it. There was an awning, and the awning was not in very good shape, and she said there were some comments about it and it was just a little off the beaten tracks.

I moved to Brookdale Chambrel Pinecastle independent living, and it's been good so far. The rooms are bigger than most of the places I have visited and it has a kitchen. I chose this place because it has a lot more to offer than other communities I've looked at and it's also nicer. I like that they have a bigger living room aside from the bedroom and the kitchen.

Brookdale Chambrel Pinecastle was very nice, and the residents were very friendly. I had a very good lunch. We talked to different people who were around while we were eating. The staff who took our orders and served us was very good and very friendly. We walked into a big living room that had comfortable chairs. The staff was very nice and very friendly.

Brookdale Pinecastle was very nice and clean. One of the things I liked about it was that you could stay in the same room should you need assisted living. We had lunch there, and the food was pretty good. They had a number of activities. The staff was very nice. They had a card room and a library.

Chambrel at Pinecastle is a lovely place. It's really closer to independent living but they have more assisted living areas. I like its general environment. The people living there tend to be more coherent and active. The staff was friendly and efficient too. The rooms are very nice. They're well furnished, well kept, current, no disrepair and lovely. They have a big dining area and they do 3 meals a day. They have numerous activities like music and card games. There's a bus that takes you out to doctors or grocery stores. But it's just off our price range.

I was actually very impressed with Chambrel at Pinecastle. The units looked more like condos as supposed to just a room. The staff who gave me the tour was very friendly, helpful, and very insightful. It was a pleasant experience.

We chose this facility first off because it is clean, it smells good, and it looks nice. They have a pond in the front that has walking trails and benches, so that if residents want to go outside, they can do so. Secondly, the residents there seem compatible with my mother in terms of their mobility and mentality. They also seem to be happy there. Chambrel at Pinecastle feels like a very vibrant, active and busy community. My mother would be able to find things to do and people that would be good friends to her. I don't know all of their activities but they go every week for like a scenic drive or go to malls, Wal-Mart or Target stores. They also bring them to all of their doctor's appointments and to the pharmacy. They have a pool in the back and they have swimming classes that my mom can take advantage of. My mom has probably been there for six weeks now and initially she started out to have one meal a day. However, she is enjoying the company of the folks in the dining room so much that she has signed on to have three meals a day. She also enjoys the food very much.
Regarding accommodation, my mom currently has an efficiency apartment on the ground floor. It has a slider to a little patio, which is a nice thing. She also has a very large walk-in closet. I think the nicest thing about Chambrel is that there are different levels of care. So if my mother needs more assistance, she will be able to upgrade to another level of care. They have a doctor that comes in once a week, so she has that consistent medical care available to her. The only problem my mother had was about internet and cable service this facility promised her. I think there's a little bit of misconception about it. That's just a minor thing but my mother was a little bit irritated about that.

My mom used to be in an apartment at Chambrel at Pinecastle and it was very nice. Their physical therapy was top notch. There was a fellow there named Dee and he was the best. He watched out for the residents and if he saw anything that needed attention, he would invite the families' attention so they could make a doctor's appointment. But they should improve on their house doctor for their residents. They had not done any examinations on them. My mother almost died there in April because he was supposed to order antibiotics and he didn't do it. If you had a loved one who was sickly, I don't think that's the place for them.
