The Palace at Coral Gables looked very dated. All the furniture was old fashioned, all velvet puffy chairs and stuff. People didn't look quite as happy there as at the other place I toured. The staff who assisted us was very nice and very helpful. They had quite a bit of activity going on, they had Movie Day or Movie Night, they had entertainment come in once or twice a month and two different things, and they do different things. They could be updated and modernized, the furniture changed, it just needs a good do-over. The place is clean, the furniture and stuff just need to be changed.

Do not lease space here during Covid-19. Residents are treated poorly and zero communication to family members. The Palace does not protect health privacy and the wellness center is extremely unprofessional. The Palace does not adhere to CDC guidelines and make up their own without explaining this going into the leasing office. Be wary of the staff. Because most of the residents require care, the staff assumes they are incapable of making decisions. Residents are treated as "stupid". This is advertised as an "independent living" facility however, is primarily Assisted Living. Beautiful facility and extremely expensive. Very "cliquish". A group of women are noted the "mean girls" (nicknamed by the staff). Residents should be respected by the staff and other residents. Residents are verbally abusive to each other. The community offers many activities if your loved one wants to participate and is not depressed because of the lack of friends. Apartments are safe and upscale. Staff enters apartments anytime they want. No privacy unless the resident has a "do not enter without knocking sign". Even if you sign "do not enter" in your lease, staff does not abide.

I have a family member in the community, excellent food, excellent activities program and excellent nursing care. They did outstanding handling the COVID-19 crisis.

We visited the palace at Coral Gables, and it was absolutely beautiful. The person who accommodated my aunt was great. She loved it. We went to the dining area, and the residents felt comfortable with the food. They have a beautiful pool, they have exercises, and the people from the University of Miami do shows for them. We toured the independent side, the apartments were new, and two meals a day are included in the rent.

I was skeptical when I heard about this being the "best luxury senior living community in America," isn’t everyone??? But boy was I wrong...it truly is! What a beautiful and clean and amazing community! But beautiful inside too with the wonderful staff and service. It's worth every single penny especially since our grandmother is super happy! Yes, it’s a bit expensive, but I’ve actually seen much more expensive places than The Palace. And I wouldn’t have my family members live anywhere else as long as I have the option! Thank you to all the people at The Palace at Coral Gables!!

The Palace at Coral Gables is for people who are totally independent, able to drive, walk, shop, and go to the theatre. It’s extremely elegant -- it’s like being in Renaissance and like being in Vizcaya. The people are functionally independent; they come and go if they choose. They have a dining room available, or you don’t have to eat in the dining room if you don’t want to. They are much more expensive than the one in Homestead. It is located on a little tiny side street, very quiet. Great for somebody who is between 65 and 80 who comes and goes how she wishes. It’s a great facility. The rooms are nice, lovely, spacious, and very clean. It is freshly painted as each client leaves, and they change the carpeting on a regular basis. They come in there and clean every day, change the linens, vacuum, and dust. Their staff is not as compassionate, though.
