We lived here for 5 years, met many fine people. However, this is an overwhelmingly conservative, Christian community. We are Jewish liberal Democrats. We tried to fit in, but not possible. If you are not Christain, conservative, this place is not for you.

Air Force Enlisted Village was absolutely awesome and wonderful. The staff people were great, and the rooms were beautiful. I saw a two-bedroom, two-bath. They do all kinds of activities. I think Air Force gets first priority over other military.

I lived at Bob Hope Village for a while, but I was not really happy with it. Every time you turn around, things were getting more expensive. You have to pay for everything. It was an old apartment, and you can hear the noise of the neighbors. It was horrible. The food was very good -- just a little expensive. The security was great because they had police officers that walk around all the time. You cannot have pets. They had a lot of recreational things to do. The staff was nice. I never heard anybody yell at anybody else, and they take care of the residents’ needs as soon as they can. They had little computers where you can schedule your work thing. You cannot get anything done unless you have a work order which was understandable. Everything had to be known. They have an exercise room and a pool. They also had classes for swimming. I just did not like it because the walls were thin, but the size of the apartment was great. I had plenty of room for everything. Everything was pretty good, but there could have been a lot of improvements.

Everything was great at Bob Hope Village. The staff is nice. They have a policy, and they're supposed to treat everybody as they would their mother. On certain days, the bus drivers take us to the commissary, out to the grocery store. They keep us busy. The ones who don't drive, they take to Walmart and different stores, to the doctor's, and they take us to activities. We get free meals on Mother's Day, Easter, and Christmas.
The bus drivers help volunteer working. We got maintenance man who really takes care of the apartments. It's just a beautiful place. It's safe: we have security at the gate, and you can't beat that. We have meetings that we get involved in to discuss how we would like to see things done if we can or if things changed. The rooms are a nice size. It's not the largest, as you would want it to be, but this is what we pay for.
For the reason that you come here and you need help, they're perfect.

I'm a retired Airforce and I saw in our magazine an advertisement for Airforce Enlisted Village. I went there and it was very nice. However, they did not have all levels of care. There were monthly activities as well.
