The people at Gulf Coast Village were very helpful and very nice. The people that live there all seemed to be happy, moving around, and friendly. If you were in surgery or something like that and you had dogs, which I have, they would walk them for you and other little things that they did.
As far as the care and everything, it was rated as a 5. The only thing I didn't like about it was it was an older facility, and it didn't have the scenic views that some of the newer places have. We only had d'oeuvres, and they were very good. They go from independent to assisted to memory care. They had everything. They had a little movie room, a salon, and an aerobics area. They had a little bit of everything.

I like Gulf Coast Village, but they were way overpriced. They were a community that you have to buy into. It's a quarter-million dollar buy-in and then you're still paying $5000 a month rent after the buy-in, so I just tossed it out because they're a little bit out of my price range. They had the normal activities that all the others have, and they have an exercise room and a library, too. They offer one meal a day plus concierge services. The facility was nice and the girl that I talked with was knowledgeable, personable, and accommodating.

The staff at Gulf Coast Village was fine, but it was way too expensive. Also there were not many activities when we visited. We just took a tour of the apartments. The apartments were really, really nice, but more expensive of course. Gulf Coast Village was very expensive. You have to pay an entrance fee.
