I visited Foulk Living. I didn't really get a whole lot of the tour. When I entered the door, it was very welcoming. The people were kind, as far as greeting you and talking about their program. They gave out information on what they had for assisted living and independent living. It looked like everything was going very well on their part. They presented everything very well and very professionally for me and my husband.
I didn't really get to look at the rooms. They have buildings outside where you can have your own place outside of the building. From what I have seen, they look really nice. They may have upgraded a few things in there. We were told that some of the areas were upgraded. I saw the hallway. It felt pretty clean in there. It was nice and breathable.

I toured Foulk Manor. They seemed to be very good and efficient in what they offer to the people who need those things, and who need an independent living but need meals as well. It was a more colonial style in terms of decoration, so it's a little bit more ornate than the other place that I toured. It felt very comfortable. They had a little bit more in terms of the activities and the kinds of rooms available, like the activity rooms. The gardens were just a little bit more elaborate and a little bit more stylish. The facilities seemed adequate for what an elderly person might need. The rooms were spacious enough for one or two people. They had little cottages or casas, and more types of offerings for independent living. So it's not just apartments, but they have cottages as well, and the cottages were very cute. I like that they had the window doors that open out onto a little patio with the woods right behind it. That was charming. They had a friendly staff, nice accommodations, and nice service. I was also impressed with them.

I went to see mainly the independent living part of Foulk Manor in Wilmington. They have a very caring staff for the residents. It's not as updated as the other place, because it changed hands but they said they're going to update a lot of things. It was sold recently so now they're going to update the lobby and stuff like that in the place.
They had an activity sheet that I didn't see because I wasn't looking at that. I was just trying to look at the facilities. They said they have gardening though and I did see that garden. They have bingo too.
It is dated so they're redoing it. I'm sure once they do it, it'll be very nice and a lot better. I will say the cottages they showed me, one of the cottages which they redid with all the new appliances and stainless-steel stuff, was nice. There was food offered but I did not taste anything.

We placed my mother in Foulk Manor North. She's in independent living with the Starlight program and they'll come up and check on her during the day, and if she needs any assistance with anything they'll help her. Like they'll make her bed and remind her of different activities during the day. Her apartment is beautiful, and she loves it. She's very happy, and I would recommend them. They have bingo, exercises, arts and crafts, music, and happy hour. I like that they're open a good part of the day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She'll go down at 8:15 for breakfast and some of the ladies will sit down there until 10:00. They also go on outings. They have a van that takes them places, they have a library, and they play cards. The place could be updated a little bit more, but for the most part it's very nice for the money. The staff is very friendly. They completely redid her whole room, she has a new bathroom, new carpet, painting, an air-conditioning and heater, and a walk-in closet.

Foulk Manor North was very nice. The staff members were very nice too. The lady gave us a lot of information. She seemed to take her time with us. They provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As for activities, there is a lady who comes in and entertains the residents with music.

We were given a tour at Foulk Manor, and that was fine. We had a very good lunch there. The dining area was warm, welcoming, and friendly. We were shown a cottage with two bedrooms, full kitchen, patio, living room, and area for laundry; we liked it. Everybody seemed friendly.

We had a very nice visiting experience at Foulk Manor North, and we ended up living in. It is a beautiful community and there was a cottage available with 2 bedrooms, which is what we wanted. It is very nice with a nice kitchen, a living/dining area and 1 bathroom. I enjoy the kitchen that I have.

The staff at Foulk Manor North was extremely courteous, overly accommodating, kind, caring, and compassionate. They seemed very interested in providing care and service and they really cared about our situation. Financially, she showed me some different options when it comes to the rooms. She also explained how people transitioned at different stages of life whether it be due to age or because they need a community where they don't have to do everything themselves. She also explained what type of housing and care they offer as well as what might be needed at each point in the different stages of aging -- she was just really helpful and caring. The facility was gorgeous. I would move in there myself. The décor was warm and inviting; the people that we encountered during the tour were happy and at ease with being there -- they were socializing and they had activitie. They also had beautiful garden grounds to walk around and a little enclosed park area where you can sit on benches. It was just really, really top notch. It was so nice.

Foulk Manor North was really expensive. I did a tour with their marketing director. It was nice and it was clean. They don't provide furniture for the rooms, you have to provide it yourself. The rooms were extremely small, too.

My mother-in-law has been in Foulk Manor North for two months now. The staff is very good. They seem very attentive and on top of things. Everyone is very nice. Food is good. We actually had lunch there before and we enjoyed it. With regards to activities, they have movies, trips, exercise classes, etc. They also have a shuttle bus that takes them shopping or to restaurants. Overall, it is a nice facility.

Foulk Manor North is a bright place. It is an excellent facility. The people seem happy there. Their two-bedroom apartments are the same size as the other apartments we checked out, but then again, they are also very small.
