I went to The Reserve at Thousand Oaks yesterday and I liked it. But it's a bit too far from where I live. It was nice, clean and well organized, and they know what they are doing. I could not see everything due to Covid. I saw the main lobby, they showed me two apartments, and we walked around the grounds a bit. The rooms were very clean and well laid out. The staff seemed to be friendly and welcoming. They had a little welcome sign for me at the entrance inside the lobby on their desk; it was a nice touch. It is a beautiful setting with lots of mature trees, however, my dad has shaky legs even with walker, and the grounds is kind of a rolling hill so there are slopes whenever you are walking around outside. This is fine for most people there but not for my dad.

I went to The Reserve at Thousand Oaks. It's lovely, the room accommodations are lovely, the staff is more than gracious, and accommodating. They were very reassuring, they were very knowledgeable, all of the concerns that I have regarding my parents, they knew how to take care of every problem that they might have. At each point in their decline, they were willing and able to offer care that would meet their needs. I would like to go to the Reserve. It's very rustic, you feel like you're in a mountain resort type of thing.

We have seen other communities and like The Reserve at Thousand Oaks the best. The people seemed very friendly. I had good lunch there; they had a menu with specials. They had a variety of activities and trainers in the gym who help you so you're not just doing your own thing. They have a main building and outside buildings. They permit animals for an extra fee. The rooms were a little bit on the small side compared to another community in my town which has larger rooms.

I'm very happy with The Reserve at Thousand Oaks. What I really like about it is that the staff is really nice. The staff is there 24/7. The food is fantastic. My mom's quarters are wonderful. They come in and clean her apartment twice a week. They have a lot of activities for the seniors. They have Poker, card games, a library, and so much there to do that you can't do it all in one day. They're very well-staffed for physical rehab, they have a workout room, they have fitness classes, and a pool. It is not cheap, and it is probably the most expensive facilities there is. They have a game room, painting classes, art classes, workout classes for fitness, they have staff members that will help people with physical therapy, movies twice a day, they have library sessions, book clubs, and intellectual clubs. It's independent assisted living. In other words, if the person can no longer care for themselves, they don't qualify to be there. My mother has to be able to care for herself. She gets a lot of amenities for her money. She has a 1-bedroom apartment that looks out over the woods.

I visited my friend at the Reserve, and it had 2 levels of care -- the independent and the assisted living. The first time I went, I toured the independent section, and I was impressed. It was exceptionally well-maintained. My friends were very happy there.

The Reserve at Thousand Oaks was OK but looked old. I liked that they had little porches. The staff member, Jennifer, was great. I was able to eat there and loved the food that I ate.

I've been in The Reserve at Thousand Oaks for quite some time. I like the facility. They have transportation, and they go to church, shopping centers, different places that are scenic, and to and from the doctor. We have three meals a day. It's a nice convenient place. The staff is nice, and they take good care of you. It's well maintained and very clean.

This is a beautiful community with great food and lovely apartments, we would have joined this community had it not been for a wait list longer than we could accept.
