Well I will start off with saying that I personally enjoyed this retirement home (Cherokee Retirement Home). My great grandmother was a resident of the facility, she was 81, she suffered from breast cancer as well as Alzcheimers Disease. She was a very sweet lady and I know she enjoyed staying there and she was a home body. She loved her home and did not get out much, so for her to enjoy staying there was a great thing. The staff at Cherokee Retirement Home were very caring and compassionate. They all seemed to be very involved with their jobs. They seemed to grow lasting relationships with the patients. They were on top of getting the patients what they desired as well as maintaining their necessary hygiene. The facility was always kept clean, there did not appear to be any short cuts that most businesses take when cleaning their buildings, like for instance dirty walls, water on counters, rings on tables from drinks, bad smelling odor in the building, toilet seats are dirty, floors not mopped, and so on. They were thoroughly cleaned everyday several times daily. The meals were excellent and very nutritious. They allowed family and friends to do things with the residents on holidays at the facility. Had special dinners or brunches at the facility. There were lots of activities and games for the residents to participate in as well as reading libraries as well. Overall I think it is a wonderful facility and my grandmother would say the same but she is no longer living. When she died they were very compassionate and comforting about her passing and very professional as well. So I give high recommendations to this facility for future residents. Thank you!
