We're living in a place right now called Atria Grand Oaks. It's a nice place except the food is terrible. The community is great. It's a three-story building, and it's very, very nice. We have a two-bedroom, two-bath unit. The staff members are very good here except they can't get a chef to save their lives. They're all very nice. However, we just spent about two months in a lockdown, and the meals delivered to us, and we wanted to run like hell. There are not many activities that we care for. Fortunately, I'm well enough that we can walk and go outside and go elsewhere. They have a pool and exercise classes. The room is very nice. We looked at another place down the road and their two-bedroom was terrible compared to this one. We have two bathrooms, and that's what we want. The value for the money is great.

Atria Grand Oaks is a good facility, I really like it, and my mom likes it so far. The staff members are good. The head nurse that takes care of the facility with respect to the medical aspect is very good, she's on top of things for me, and she's been very informative. Everyone else has been very nice. With the COVID and the restrictions that they have, they really put some good things in place and everybody knows the process, so every time you go there it's very consistent. They have a really nice outdoor walking area with benches where they can sit, it's like a garden, and it's really, really nice. Everything is very clean and organized. I would see the gardeners there every week taking care of the facility. I helped get her up to her room to help her unpack and what have you, and it's really nice. Plus, everyone is really nice there. She's in a one-bedroom unit with a full kitchen, it also has a stackable washer and dryer in her unit so she can do her own laundry. It's really nice, it's the perfect size apartment for her, and she has a patio. It's small, but in respect for what she needs it's the perfect size for her. She also has a walk-in closet and everything; it's really nice.

We have decided on Atria Grand Oaks. It is wonderful. It's where my aunt wanted to be and where I would want to be, too. The rooms are the largest of all the places we have seen. The staff is very friendly and very nice. The food is fantastic, and you can order anything you want at any time or you can have the entrée or the sald bar. It is like a cruise ship. They have central heating and cooling, rather than wall units, so it's very quiet. Everything about it is first class and done right. She will be in independent living, and then if she needs assistance down the road, that is also available, which is really nice because you don’t have to worry about moving again. They have a pool and a dedicated movie theater, plus movies twice a day in their theater. They have a black car service that you can reserve if you want to go to the pharmacy, grocery store, or whatever you want to do.

I felt that Atria Grand Oaks had a little bit more activities. They have exercise, and a physical therapist is right there gearing towards strength and weakness. The location was also what I wanted. It’s near a park and it has two hospitals nearby. The neighborhood is nice and it’s very inviting. The dining room looks like a large dining room in your house, but it’s so comfortable with decor and curtains. The staff has been very helpful and easy to work with.

I've been pretty impressed with the facilities here. My husband's grandmother moved there after being widowed. She was extremely skeptical at first, but started to really like it. They have a lot of activities there that she enjoys-she particularly likes having access to the pool. She's also never been much of a cook-her husband used to cook for her. Although she has a full kitchen in her apartment, having the dining facilities is something of a relief to her and to us-we don't have to worry so much about her eating enough, which has been a problem for her in the past. Her apartment is very nice. The facilities are very clean and well-maintained. My husband's grandmother did stay for a while in the part with nursing care for a while after a heart attack. My mother-in-law's comments suggested that everyone was very professional. We visited her while she was there, and I liked that that side has more of a hotel, rather than a hospital, feel to it.
