Casa De Las Campanas is lovely. In comparison to the other place, it's much larger. And the person who gave the tour is a delight. She was really good. I went with several people, but I didn't get everything. And then I went back again, and she was very, very thorough. When you walk in, it's elegant looking, but not fancy. There are lots of amenities there. They offer a meal ticket thing where you have freedom in terms of what you want to do with it.
In each of the halls, there's a library area with tables, and if you have a group to play cards or something with you, you can use those. There's an indoor and outdoor pool. They have so many residents, I could see where they could have all these amenities. They also have a nice workout room. There were a couple of exercise classes going on when we were there. There are gardens on the grounds. You have a chance to see the grounds because every apartment has a balcony, so that's a plus for me.

Immediate instant “family” is what you get when you come to Casa de Las Campanas to live. I know from experience. Shortly after arriving at Casa I was found to need immediate surgery. Upon my return I received calls, cards, offers of assistance and visits during my recovery. To me, it doesn’t much matter what floor you reside on; what direction your apartment faces or the blueprint of your home compared to the people with whom you live. Here the friends are like valuable jewels—irreplaceable. Come experience such a wonderful place.

I moved here as a widower 5.5 years ago and have never regretted my decision. I have been able to use my business experience on active resident committees that have been beneficial to management. I participate in three discussion groups including Spanish through which I have met many residents who have become good friends. My apartment is just right and is a true home with all my special stuff right here to enjoy with their memories. I would recommend Casa to others in a heartbeat. It is a comforting place to enjoy retirement while secure in the knowledge that I will be taken care of for the rest of my life.

I moved to Casa 5 years ago and am so happy I did it soon enough to be mentally and physically able to enjoy the many activities offered here. I have especially enjoyed being a part of the hiking group through the trails near Casa, the line dancing class, and also the once a month social/dance where we can enjoy meeting other people and have fun listening to and dancing to the music of a wonderful band hired from outside. The food here is very good with a choice of 3 restaurants to choose from. And last but not least we have our apartments cleaned every other week. So, without having to cook, clean or do garden chores, I seem to be busier than ever!

I have been living at Casa De Las Campanas for the last 6.5 years and have never had life so easy. They do everything for us here. Prepare all our meals, clean our apartments every two weeks and provide lots of wonderful activities all year long. The people at Casa are exceptionally talented, wonderful, and extremely nice and down to earth. I am so glad I took the plunge and moved here. I can’t recommend it enough.

Here is one reason why I am glad I chose Casa de las Campanas. Residents are encouraged to start clubs and groups that further all types of interests. For example, I started a Spanish conversation group which has been a fun activity for those of us who speak Spanish or want to learn a bit. I am now thinking of starting another group to practice my French or German. Casa residents are active and eager to learn new things.

We looked for a CCRC in the San Diego area because we wanted to be near family as we aged. We preferred a Type A to a Type B or C CCRC because we wanted to minimize our downside risk of later health care costs. We chose Casa de las Campanas because it is the only non-profit Type A CCRC in this area. We reasoned that it would provide adequate services at lower cost to residents since it did not have to generate profits either to enrich owners or to reinvest as much in the property to make it more attractive to sell at a profit. We were right in that rationale. Casa is the least expensive of the four Type A CCRCs in San Diego County. We also looked at governance. While profit motive is not a factor at Casa, we noted that a number of members and former members of the Board of Governors were residents here as well. That speaks to the Board’s interest in Casa’s performance and to the degree of engagement between the Board and the residents.

I've visited Casa De Las Campanas, it's very large and they've been around a long time. They've always been at the top of the list for everybody, so they're also very expensive. The facility was very nice, it wasn't brand-new like the others I saw but it had all the amenities. It had an outdoor pool, they had some nice-sized apartments. I didn't eat there but I saw the food as I walked by, it looked good. They also had a movie theater, hair salon, and worship services, they had a lot. The gal who showed me around knew everybody there, and everybody seemed to like her.

My husband just got back to apartment from our Health Center (Continuing Care is the most important thing in selecting your senior home). Even during the Covid 19, the care and attention to our entire family was remarkable. It was clean, all the employees were efficient, kind and caring. The Activity Department workers in the care center were fun and loving. My husband had an incision that needed expert care and we found it here. It was reassuring that I could see him every day without having to leave our campus. While quarantined, visiting was allowed through the window of his room.
