The Park Lane's amenities were great and the staff that I met with was very informative. I like its proximity to the Monterey area. The apartment that I saw was clean, but I think some of the apartment's hallways and some of the interior spaces were a little dated. I think they could use updating. But the room or apartment itself was updated, it's just the common spaces that were out of date.

I am a resident of The Park Lane. I think it's pretty good. Everything is taken care of for us, we have no utility bills, and they take care of it. The food is adequate. So far, we've been getting along really well with it. They have plenty of activities. We have a music band coming in about three times a week, bingo, and all kind of board games. The staff are very friendly. I don't know how they know everybody's name, but when you walk by there, they seem to know us. I think it's a little overrated on value; it's pretty high, and rent should be a little cheaper. There are so many activities, you just don't go to all of them. We have a chapel and a game room. They're building a new spa. The amenities are pretty decent.

The Park Lane is older, but it is alright. They have smaller rooms, but it's OK. From what they said, there were general activities and exercises. When you get the program, they only have breakfast and one other meal (either lunch or dinner). The facility is older, but it is adequate. I would say it is OK. They did not have as much independent living. They mostly had care, a lot of care.

The Park Lane was wonderful, but I just can't afford it, I wish I could. It's nice and you probably get great care. They were very competent, very polite, and very personable. The rooms were very nice. To me, the carpet looked a little dirty, and it wasn't ready for someone to move in, so I think they're getting ready to clean the carpet; somebody had just moved out literally. But if I had the money, I would go there in an instant. It has lovely views. It's a very nice facility. Everyone was friendly. The staff that showed me around was great. I was feeling really weak that day, so I wasn't able to walk all around to the different places she wanted to show me. But I was able to see the room and whatnot. The other occupants were very pleasant, polite, and friendly, too.

We have a lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom residence with gourmet kitchen, washer/dryer. We have lovely balconies with plenty of sunshine. The staff have been extremely helpful and accommodating. The activities that I take part in are line dancing, and I want to get involved with mental gym, yoga, and exercise with Nima. The dining offers excellent food in a beautiful setting. We love the transportation and the community involvement of the residents. We are very pleased with our choice of Park Lane. We feel very welcomed living here.

A very nice facility, with lots of elbow room, great views, and unrushed environment. I have placed my deposit and am anxious for an opening.

Moving my mother in-law into a new senior living community during a global pandemic didn’t sound feasible, but who knew it would be seamless! She sent me to explore The Park Lane in Monterey so she could be closer to our family and it’s turned out to be the best decision for all. The Executive Director, Beau, has a super positive and engaging demeanor. His team is equally upbeat and caring. The property is well maintained and service items are addressed promptly. The COVID vaccine clinics were conducted in an efficient manner and now activities are resuming. It is so refreshing to be able to visit and see smiling residents returning to happy living! Highly recommend The Park Lane for anyone looking for a standout retirement living community on the Monterey Peninsula.

I recently called Park Lane, requesting a tour and was referred to Cynthia Duvall. Cynthia was very prompt getting back to me and did a great job showing the available studios, apartments and amenities for independent living. She was patient in answering my many questions and remained positive and efficient throughout the times we met and viewed the premises. Even though I was at Park Lane during the Pandemic, I felt safe and comfortable as the staff and residents followed the recommended safety guidelines. I hope to move in to the Park Lane in 2021 and will look forward to Cynthia Duvall help with the transition.

My mother lives at The Park Lane and is very happy, even during these very difficult times. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is quite good, and the facility is well-maintained. Food is being delivered during COVID. The Park Lane is doing a good job of balancing health of residents and staff with quality of life and morale. I didn't rate "Activities" because mom doesn't use them, especially now, so I have no basis for rating them. There are a wide variety of activities in the bulletins, and I would think they're very well done.

The Park Lane is taking such good care of us during this challenging time. The dining room delivers all our meals and they have a room to room wine trolley too! There are activities and we practice social distancing.

I visited three other facilities in the Carmel area. I found them to be either too worn, or too sleepy, or simply uninviting. Then I toured The Park Lane with Cynthia. Touring with her made all the difference. Her positive energy is very uplifting and encouraging, so falling in love with the beautifully run facility was easy. The units are lovely spacious apartments. The dining room offers supurb meals that I look forward to eating daily once I finally move in. and I cant wait to experience all the activities that are offered to the lively residents there.I am tired of dealing with the issues of home maintenance, and will look forward to a new relaxing adventure ahead!!!

I recently moved to the Park Lane and found the staff has been so accommodating during this transition. Charles from the maintenance department is a gem and the Executive Director, Beau, was so helpful with the move in process. I can’t wait for my daughter to visit so she too can enjoy the full dining experience (fresh salmon) with me!

The Park Lane staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming, professional and caring toward residents and their families/visitors. They are always there to offer a helping hand no matter what the issue is, and they do it with kindness and empathy, and patience. Park Lane offers a wide range of activities to keep our mom busy and allow her to learn new activities like knitting which she never explored before Park Lane. The campus is peaceful surrounded by nature --with a lot of trees, views of the Pacific ocean and landscaped paths and plant life. Convenience is part of daily life there -- you can schedule transportation to doctors appointments and hop on shuttles to various spots around the Peninsula for regular shopping or field trips. As my mother carefully and gradually weighed her decision about this next chapter in life, the staff was extremely patient and supportive regarding all of our detailed questions. Thank you for everything!

The staff here is very friendly and helpful, and my mother loves the facilities. She enjoys a nice one bedroom apartment with a balcony so she can have her plants. She is also able to have her cat with her. She is happy and says often how much she enjoys living here and the peace and security she feels.

My 85 year old mother moved to The Park Lane, Independent Living section in Dec 2019. Having lived all her life in the Monterey area, we had been visiting Senior communities over a 5 year period and she decided it was time to stop living alone and she chose The Park Lane. Over those years the staff at the Park Lane have always been helpful and pleasant. The Park Lane is in a lovely area of Monterey. Over the last few years they have done a fantastic remodel job so when my mom moved in to her studio apartment (with a patio) and cable included, as difficult as it was for her to move from her home and garden, the apartment afforded her the ability to continue with her key areas of interest. The staff has been very helpful in assisting her in getting set-up in the new apartment and engaged in activities. It has been 4 months now and my mom is developing a routine and navigating the facilities and relationships with the other tenants. The Park Lane offers a lot of activities if one wants to partake and provides shuttle service to doctors appointments and arranges outings. During the Covid-19 stay at home order, the staff has gone above and beyond - doing shopping and errands for their tenents and bringing food to their apartments. The Park Lane is a community and it can be hard for some to enter and feel part a community if they have lived alone for a long time. The staff understands that for some the move is a hard one - the sense of giving in to old age and independence - the staff seems to understand this and they help as much as they can - but its a partnership. I am so thankful that my mom is at The Park Lane - I feel secure that she is safe and being cared for, food is being provided and there are activities within the community yet she can be as independent as she wants. My mother would agree that the staff is very helpful and facilities are great. Most of my moms grumbling is not about the Park Lane, its more about how she would like to move back home to what is familair and her garden. But not driving any longer, slowing down in her movements and becoming more frail, finding it diffacult to cook, and having the loss of memory that sometimes come with old age, she agrees it is probablly better she stay where she is. She does have two complaints; 1. She does wish the stove and oven in her apartment was electric (she is not used to a gas stove - so me and my sister had it turned off for safety reasons). She misses occasionally making beans and cornbread, bacon and eggs and sometimes cookies, and 2. She wishs the there were more variety in the food, e.g. tacos, steak, chinese, stir fry, stews, etc. If I can get her to accept occasional meal delivery, I think I could help address at least one of the items above, but we are not there yet. I give The Park Land a big 5 Star overall. Happiness and enjoying all they have to offer is up to the individual. A son.

Seems there are many different options for living there. I like the upper floors of the tower because I can see the ocean!!--fantastic!! That is my dream--hope an appropriate unit becomes available before I can move in!!! I so like the larger one-bedroom accommodations available. I am so grateful Cindy showed these options to me. Sure hope a one-bedroom larger unit can become available (with the view to the ocean) for me!!! I await that possibility. I am counting on Cindy to help me obtain one of these larger one-bedroom units.

Key words may say it all: very friendly staff and residents, beautiful and quiet grounds in woods, well thought out design of units (especially the walk in showers in the renovated ones), excellent food service and menu choices, and the best location for mild weather. We had an extraordinary access to a delightful couple to explore what it feels like to be a resident of Park Lane. The PL Manager filled in the details, but the hour meeting with residents, and viewing their apartment, was key to our high rating. Activities at PL, for us at this time, were a bit limited, but we know in 3-5 years it may be perfect. On site access to medical personnel was an key benefit at the facility. Glad to see current work on adding a large spa... water does wonders to for our aging bone Surgery!

The Park Lane had a good reputation for a long time. The food is pretty good, the service has been excellent, the people are friendly, and they have walk-in showers. The area is very beautiful, and I really have no complaints at this time. They allow pets.

I like that The Park Lane has chalets and that would be something that I would be interested in. They have nice apartments, but I don't want to be in the main building. The chalets have two bedrooms and they are spacious and wonderful, but they are separated from the main house, which means you have to walk over there if you go for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It's not very far, but when it rains, that is to be considered. The staff was very courteous and nice. It's not near a street and I like their dining room the best. It's more spacious, open, and you look more into greenery and the garden. It just did not have a nursing facility.
