About This Community
At Glencroft Center for Modern Aging, we feel “Successful Aging” can be summed up simply by making sure someone, no matter what their age, has a sense of purpose and direction. If we can provide our seniors with purpose, passion and meaning in their lives then we will put them in the best possible scenario of aging successfully. As an organization we maintain focus on helping our residents achieve a sense of fulfillment in many key areas of their lives: physically, mentally, socially, spiritually and emotionally.
Making New Friends with Similar Interests
At the core of us, humans are social creatures. Even when older, there is a need for a community where every individual feels like a part of something bigger than them, like they matter. There is a feeling of being safe and lightness of being that can come from that arrangement that is invaluable. Research shows that of the top factors that improve quality of life, our daily social interactions with other people top the chart. While you are out and about in your community doing what you love, you’ll come across other seniors of your age who enjoy the same things. If you find your social circle has gotten smaller, consider taking an on-site class to meet interesting people with similar interests.
Enjoy Many Amenities Close to Your Home
As you factor in the cost savings of having so many things you love to do so close to your home, you’ll also want to consider the convenience. Yoga or fitness classes, indoor pool, some special events, various type of adult education, and entertainment are all located onsite, along with gourmet dining options staffed by professional chefs. Regularly scheduled worship services and other special services such as bible study, home and hospital visits, as well as grief counseling services are available at Glencroft. We have our own separate barber shop and beauty shop easily accessible on campus. Free weekly trips are made to several nearby grocery stores and shopping centers.
Never Worry About Home Maintenance or Yardwork
One of the key advantages of a senior housing, Arizona community is saying good bye to yard work, home maintenance. There are a lot of pieces that have to fit into the puzzles of making a place a home. There is the cleaning that has to be done, ensuring the front lawn is kept well respectable. Does it look like there might be a storm? So, the roof has to be checked too. Winter is here; are the heaters working properly? Who will clear the driveway? There are dishes to be washed after meal time and laundry to be done periodically. It’s a lot of work, and it is work that is easier to do when you’re younger and your body does not begrudge you those strained muscles. Being in a continuum care community affords the benefits of maintenance without the input of your time and energy that goes into it. These things are included in your monthly senior living fees packages. You may even have the option to add extra housekeeping services too.
Move in Healthy and Stay Healthy
We offer an incredible variety of engaging activities for any senior who is experiencing changes in their physical and mental health. The social element here can provide great motivation and stimulation.
The vision of Glencroft is to create an environment that inspires seniors to experience enriched and fulfilling lives. Glencroft is the largest Senior Living Community in Arizona and the 4th largest in the nation. The community sits on 40 lush acres of citrus trees and grass. We offer all-inclusive services to our residents which consists of housekeeping, security, meals, transportation and activities. If your loved one needs additional attention we offer ‘Glencroft at Home’ services to help with activities of daily living to assist residents. This allows our residents to remain independent for the longest amount of time.

I toured the Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. They have facilities for dogs, but it had to be under 30 pounds and my dog is larger than that so that kind of killed it. It had 800 people, which seemed to be a lot of people. The five-story building I wasn't impressed with the size was not something I was looking for. The fellow that I talked to and interviewed, we talked quite a bit, was very good, very informative, and was a good representative for them to choose. He was cordial, pleasant, and understanding. And we didn't have any problems at all just communicating with regards to the facility. It just wasn't what I was looking for. I was told there was a pool, and the facility itself was very nice. It's a little difficult to find the office as it was in the back. You'd have to go through a gated path and through security to get to the office, which I felt was a little unusual.

My mom moved to Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. It seems to be laid out well and offers a lot of activities for people to choose from if they desire to. The food is good. It seems like it's also multifaceted having assisted living, independent living, and all that kind of stuff. It offers just about everything you could possibly need.
My mom is in their independent living. I don't recall much of what the activities are, but they seem to be things that older people would be interested in or even people my age.
I know they have someone come in to do your hair and your nails. A podiatrist also comes in; I think once a week or twice a week. They have a community store that's open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. They have transportation to take you to and from Wal-Mart or places that have other stores in it.
Her room is good. She's in a studio that has no carpet, which is good because it's a lot easier to clean up. It also seems big enough for her. It has a living area, a kitchen, and a bedroom.

Glencroft Center for Modern Aging was a great community. It was all self-contained and we had a lot of opportunities; It had three or four restaurants, and it had a little grocery store inside, which was convenient. They have religious services on Sunday, which was great. Everybody seemed to be nice, it was a great place. It looks great, I didn't notice anything that wasn't clean. The upkeep seemed great. It was a nice community.
They have different classes and a little gym that we toured. They have activity classes and a big auditorium where they would do different things all the time. It seemed like they had a lot going on all the time.
We looked at the menu. We didn't taste the food or see it, but the menu is extensive. They have three different restaurants there, and they had a little coffee shop where you could get coffee and pastry; that seemed nice. Their menu was great for their main restaurant, with a lot to choose from. The staff, was great and did a great job taking us around. She took us around in a little golf cart and showed us everything. She's nice. The place was great, but it doesn't fit what we're looking for.

I went to Glencroft Center for Modern Aging and visited the independent facilities. I believe they call them the Casitas, they're kind of like townhouses but all on one level, just one floor. On the four different sides of the area, they had these Casitas and that's what I would like to have if I move there.
There was one lady, Dawn was her name, and she was superb. She took me on a tour and she treated me to lunch there in one of the restaurants, there's two of them there. I had a very good lunch with her. I just had a bacon sandwich and some soup, and that was very good. She took me around the whole area and showed me the gymnasium and other weightlifting exercise rooms. They also had a pool and areas outside for concerts like an amphitheater. They had a nice theater also.

My father just moved into Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. It's a very large community, and everybody seems to be pretty caring. Some of my family members have looked them up on the internet as well. I've gone in there and spoke to a couple of different people. They have lots of different avenues; if he falls, he's got a watch. There are always phones that can be ringing. There are all kinds of activities going on. It seems like he's in a safe environment. The people are very patient, which is important.
His room is nice. They showed us one before, and then I saw it when I went to do all the paperwork. They offered us furniture if we wanted it, and I said I did. That was probably the only thing I didn't like. It didn't look like model furniture; but I didn't have to move my dad's junk from his house to this house, so that was a plus. I suggest you get model furniture if you come there. It looked like dragged bits and pieces from what people left behind.
They have somebody that comes in to do his cleaning every other week. There's a laundry room right next door. They have somebody you can call just to change a light bulb (because they don't want them getting on chairs or whatever). They have staff ready to go for all that kind of thing. They have a huge list of activities. They have cards, yoga, bingo, church, spirituality, classes, gym, and a pool. Their TV has a channel for Glencroft that tells them all the things available to them. He could play bingo from his house if he wanted.
It's a 40-acre senior living place. For him to walk to the dining room hall is good for him physically. He's got a walker, and I walked him over there. He lives in a court area. It's huge. There are lots of areas for walking, especially if they have pets.
We ate there last night. My dad had mashed potatoes and soup. I had shrimp dinner. It was fine, nothing extraordinary. They got to keep it kind of bland, since they're feeding seniors.

I went to Glencroft Center for Modern Aging, and if I move, I'm going to be moving there. There's nothing available right now, and they'll notify me when there's something available. It was very good, very informative. I was amazed at how much has grown since my father was there a few years back. It was good then, and it looks to be the same quality as it was when he was there. Very caring people, lots to do, and it's just a nice place. I was looking into casitas, they're little homes. I saw the worship area, the gym, there's three restaurants, and there's a store where you can buy things. The lady that gave us the tour was very knowledgeable, very pleasant, caring, and she paid attention to details; it's an amazing place.

The price at Glencroft Center for Modern Aging was good. I like the way that they have there a trainer and exercise area. The only negative about it is it's such a big community. My impression of the staff is very good. Their 1-bedroom is about the same as the studio in the other places. They have a lot of outdoor areas and the place seems to be well-maintained. They have pretty much the same standard stuff as everybody, like bingo.

They were great at Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. I just didn't like the layout of the place as well as I did the other one I visited. It was multistory. They had an elevator. It seemed like they were a lot more closed in, they didn't have as good a dining area and they're way more expensive. I didn't see anybody doing any jazzercise in the pool. I went a little bit later, so that was probably the reason because it was so darn hot that day. I didn't see as many people interacting with the elderly, maybe it's because they were all busy. The other place was way more welcoming. There was a couple of spots like gathering areas or rooms in the different parts of the building. They had the activities room or something like that, but it could have been that I was there at the wrong time of day or they were busy eating lunch.

Glencroft Center for Modern Aging is tops and I think they have more amenities. The people that I saw and met were all happy, and I didn't see anyone that didn't have a smile on their face. It's not as new as the other ones, but it is well kept up and feels more like home than the others. They have so many activities there; if you can't find something to do that interests you, I think you've got a problem. They had a gym, they had woodworking, school, art, chess, puzzles, entertainment, library, and many things. The person who accommodated me was very knowledgeable and I like her.

Glencroft Center for Modern Aging didn't have a clean look, and you had to go quite a distance to the little independent homes, but they had about 128 independent homes, which was really pretty awesome. They had a covered swimming pool, a lot of activities, and the staff was not too bad. The living atmosphere was OK too. I think it's one of the largest facilities in the country. It's huge, had three restaurants to choose from, a great gym, a big auditorium where they had speakers come in, movie nights, game nights, and party nights. They had all kinds of stuff. They also had a thrift store and a little grocery store. It was just like being in a small town, really.
Now your organization has done some follow up, but when I have some questions about some things, like the lady that had booked me, Sarah I think her name was, she sent me a list of the places, but hadn't sent all the dates and times. She gave me the dates and times over the phone, but then when I called and asked to have that sent to me, it took a long while to get it. I had to call about three times before I got it. I had somebody send that to me, and so I was a little disappointed with that.

I toured Glencroft Center for Modern Aging, and Sue, our sales agent, was very personable. She answered all of our questions to the best of her abilities, even though she couldn't show us all the amenities. Their campus was getting new air conditioners, so they got 3/4 of the parking lot blocked, but we were really impressed with the facility. If we don't have anything else to look at, this will likely be the one we approach.
The biggest thing about the place was the units that we would be likely moving into felt a lot like home. The apartments were bigger than what we have now, and Sue made sure she showed us options that were within our current budget. She actually managed to work it out.
She showed us a two-bedroom, one-bath apartment, and I liked the fact that it was a single story, so nobody's upstairs banging on the floor. They do religious services since they are a non-profit Christian organization, and what we saw on the menu really impressed us. She invited us back if we wanted to see all the amenities and community events that we were not able to see, and then we'll schedule a longer visit.
They just need to make sure that there's a way to get around the entire property in about two or three hours. I know they are a very large property, but we wanted to see the other apartments, and then some of the amenities, because all we saw was the food, and we had to go a long way around the 40 acre property to get there.

We moved into Glencroft Senior Living. It's a Christian community with 900 residents. You can hear a hymn through the PA system three times a day, and they're above board in their dealings. We even have a TV station here where we get daily briefings, but we have had the virus here rather bad, and I have not been able to take a tour. The food is very disappointing. Every once in a while you get something decent, but the food could be better. Everyone here is a five. I have a beautiful place; it's a two-bedroom, two-bath casita. It's like brand-new, has a beautiful kitchen with granite countertops, and everything is just very nice. I really like this place, but t's expensive here. Marketing said this was an all exclusive place, but she did not explain that I would have to pay another $30 for the curtain rod I had installed, and that was disappointing. They just need to let people know exactly what's available in the maintenance package.

My wife has moved into Glencroft Senior Living. She loves it there. The food, amenities, and the people she has met have been fantastic. They got three restaurants, an indoor swimming pool, and an exercise facility. They have entertainment every Friday night, they have buses, they have laundry facilities, they got church right there, and they also have a small general store and a game room. Basically, everything that my wife would ever want is right there.

Glencroft Senior Living had regular kitchens in their apartments except for the studio. It was very nice, but they only had one meal a day. I love the central location of it being in Glendale. It's in the middle of town and close to everything. I liked the friendliness of the people. Everybody was having a nice time sitting in the lounge and talking, and they had a pool table. They had little places where you could buy food other than the dining area. It's kept up beautifully and there was some foliage. It was an older building that had elevators. The studio was extremely large, and the one-bedroom was very nice. It's peaceful and quiet.

We're in Glencroft Senior Living. The staff is pretty good, and the food is pretty good, as well as the dining area. They have different activities.

Glencroft has all levels of care- from independent living to memory care that also includes assisted living. It's a little dated but they're good, and so far I highly recommend them. It's a big place and I think they have about 500 people. We've eaten at their restaurants and it's good. One of the best things about the place is that people there are very caring. It's a faith-based community. They have all the usual activities like cards, excursions and other stuff.

We liked Glencroft Senior Living better. It's a big facility with independent living, assisted living, and caregiving. It's a whole block long and one of the largest independent living communities in the city. They had all kind of amenities, transportation with buses and automobiles, laundry rooms, and pool. I talked to one of the marketing representatives who was great and went into detail on everything. My daughter was with me, and we were both impressed. We ate in one of the dining rooms and the food was great. They had a mailroom, several types of rooms, and a nice theater there. I selected one-bedroom, one-bath with a kitchen, pantry, and air-conditioning. I'm looking at a renovated place on the second floor with carpets and closets. It's the best. The staff and food were outstanding.

Glencroft Senior Living had apartments that I could afford and a lot of activities. They had independent living, assisted living, and memory care. Mike took me around and was absolutely great. He showed me three different kinds of apartments. I ate an OK meal there. Everything about the place was fine, and it was closer to town and closer to where the activities are. Their transportation will take you to more places compared to others. This place turned out to be the best among all the places I've seen. It was the biggest senior place in the state.

Glencroft Senior Living was exceedingly well thought of. It's been there for a long time and the biggest in the country. They were very honest and upfront with me. The price they gave me was significantly lower because I'm a veteran. They were absolutely up-to-date with everything I would need or appreciate. They had a glass-covered indoor pool, a restaurant, and an auditorium. I will be having a screened-in porch, and there are so many freebies that I would be entitled to.
