La Posada is great for the most part but there a few things that you and your family should know. They offer to help take care of everything, like selling your home, car, etc., but make sure you have a trusted family financial professional or lawyer review everything before signing as they do take a chunk of not only that, but your personal savings and nest egg. My mom had about $300k in savings and passed away, so La Posada's arrangement is that they retain the money no matter how long your family lives there. For mom, it was under a year so there was nothing left for her kids.

I'm living in La Posada. I'm in an apartment, we have quite a variety. We have garden homes, those are smaller, and then we have apartments, and I have like 1,300 square feet with two bedrooms, two-baths, and a flex room, which is like a little office. It's just wonderful here. It's like a campus, they have an outdoor pool, an indoor pool, and we have a tram to get around things on campus. They have everything on campus here too, and buses that take you to the theaters and the University when you're very near Tucson, which is very nice, and near the University of Arizona. They are very good at hiring people, most of the people like the dining people. We have terrific food here, and actually we have -- except because of the virus it's closed now -- we had a five-star restaurant here too. But most of the people, like the dining room and the cleaning people, the dining people are mostly high-school kids, and students at the University of Arizona. We give a lot of scholarships, and it's like a high priority to get one. And for the kids to get a job here, they're really great. As far as the other staff we have a nurse on duty all the time, and then we do have assisted living too, and a memory place. It has lots of palm trees, planting, and a lot of facilities here. I have housekeeping once a week, and I get one dinner or lunch every day. I think across the country they're rated pretty high, but you have to buy in, and they keep 30 percent of what you pay to buy in when you leave. The weather is wonderful of course, I have a mountain view. I'm on the second floor and they have like, I guess they call it a balcony, but here it's a screened-in porch where I have some of my white wrought-iron furniture, so you don't get claustrophobic. It's a wonderful place.

I have lived at La Posada for nine years in Independent Living I love the many activities that keep me moving ,so I can enjoy a quality life in my 90s. I participate in Sit and Be Fit, Yoga, Balance, and Meditation classes. Excellent food. The staff has been welcoming and kind to me. My small apartment I have made into a home that I love. There are apartments, garden homes, private pavilion homes are currently being constructed. A Concert weekly, lectures, I find it easy to be a life- long learner here at la Posada.
