I am living in The Groves. It's good and they do a good job. They have good people and it?s a nice facility. The meals are available from 7:00 in the morning to 7:00 at night. They're good, there's a good variety of food available, and the servers are excellent. They have a gym and pools available here in the community.

The Groves, A Merrill Gardens Community was very nice. It didn’t have separate living places, but it was quite nice. One of the things that I really liked was that they didn’t have a pre-arranged meal time, so you can eat any time you want to. They served three meals a day. The staff was very informative and very friendly. They showed me a one-bedroom apartment and a room in the memory care center. You just sign up and they will provide you a shuttle to your doctors' appointments. They had an exercise area, a crafts room, and a beauty salon. They had a separate kitchen if you wanted to make something on your own.

We visited The Groves. The amenities were great. We had lunch there, and we thought the food was good. The people were nice, and we thought it was a beautiful place.

The Groves was beautiful and shiny bright new, but it was not appropriate for my purposes because the apartments were small. They’re not meant for you to cook in them or do anything in because they provide every single meal, and they do all the stuff. I want to still be cooking, and I want a regular apartment.
It’s for different sort of folks who are having some difficulty caring for themselves. They bring the care to your room if you need it. All of the washing machines are outside on the floors, but not in the rooms. and there is no kitchen. The people there were lovely and happy. I loved the staff there; they were very friendly and nice.

The Grove was very professionally done, and the director was very professional. The whole tour itself was very good. They treated us to an excellent lunch. The facility itself was beautiful and offered a lot. The reason why it’s not going to really work for us is because my dad would not be able to thrive there at all. As part of my mom’s dementia, my dad has to be with her all the time. The facility was very impressive, and the apartments were gorgeous. They had a hair salon and a lot to offer. It’s top notch, and there’s nothing missing. I can’t think of any area that could improve on.

We toured around The Groves. I liked the fact that it actually had the three levels of care, from independent to assisted, and a memory care wing. The manager was really good. I visited with him and liked his philosophy on how he works with their residents. I think we've made our decision to go with a different, less expensive place, but I would definitely go back and revisit it. My mom may need memory care. The Groves definitely was our second choice.
