My mother-in-law lives in Springdale Village's independent living. What I like best about it is that whenever the manager calls, she listens to both mine and my mother-in-law's concerns. I feel like when she is speaking to us, she isn't discounting anybody's feelings. It felt like she understood where we were all coming from, then she would address it in a respectful manner.
The place is clean and whenever we've needed to call for maintenance to come over, the day that the request was put in, the office has always gotten back to us on the same day.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We ate at the bistro, they have a restaurant there, and it's really affordable and healthy, with a lot of options. It's good food and the portions are affordable.
I like that it's close to where we live. The manager also had my mother-in-law close to the office so that's good. They have the pool, bingo three times a day, and a lot of activities. They have a bus that takes them to scheduled activities like grocery shopping or to the casino. They also take the people to the doctor's appointments within a seven-mile radius. For me, it is helpful that they offer all those services because it takes the burden off the family.

Springdale Village is fine. My father had used their skilled nursing before and they treated him well and took care of the issues. He is now on the independent living side of it. I think the community does a good service for elderly people. They checked on him every morning, and when there was an issue, they immediately called the paramedics as they should. When he came back from the hospital, they put in a little extra time just to keep checking on him, more so than just a phone call in the morning. So for independent living, I think the staff is doing a good job above and beyond.
The facility's hallways, the dining area, and his apartment are also very nice. I've eaten there myself and they have a nice selection of menu. You can get something as simple as a sandwich or you can get a hot meal. So, I think it's a good value.

Apartments are well maintained and property is very clean. Everyone is very nice and wants to do what they can to help. The pricing and the different levels is very affordable. Mine includes access to a wonderful restaurant and if I don't want the special of the day I have a whole menu to select from. They have an excellent brunch on Sundays and includes everything from Bagels to "made to order omelets". Very tasty. The restaurant is open to the public, as well. I get a wonderful one bedroom apartment with full kitchen and one meal a day with all utilities but landline phone or internet for under $1500 per month. Very professional.

We liked Springdale Village. The apartments were nice and the dining area was very nice. The appearance is nice inside and out and I liked the grounds because they centered around a greenbelt with trees. The person who assisted us was experienced. They have a swimming pool and a recreation area and activities in an activity room. They have the usual card games and a dining room where you can invite your family to visit. The food was very good and the dining area was quite nice.

Springdale Village is great for us. It makes us feel like we are home; it is just a very comfortable feeling. The thing is, I don't have a car anymore, and I have to be where there is a bus for transportation to the stores, to the doctors, and so forth. Then, another thing is, it is independent living. Right now, I am in my chair with my blinds closed and my television on and I am in my own little world; it is just an independent living feeling. We had just found that the dining room is beautiful. They change the tablecloths every day, every time somebody eats, and the people are very, very friendly. They sit you with other people, and it is just the ideal place for single people to be; it is a very friendly place. Another thing we like is that our buildings face each other and we get very little traffic from the ambulances and things like that because of the way they are fixed. These are little things that make a difference to people. We are allowed a little dog, and we have to keep them on a leash. My friend and I just like the whole place. They have a lot of problems with the landscaping because they have a lot of trees, so I would suggest not to cut the trees because they are beautiful, but to do something about them. There are little problems, but these will be corrected eventually. They have what they call a connection room where they have various activities, or you could go up there to just sit and have a cup of coffee with people whom you don't even know their names.

A friend of mine is at Springdale Village. They showed me around the facility, and it's a very nice place. The people are very friendly. They have two buses that take their residents to places. They only get one meal a day, and that is fine with me because I don’t like the food, and for me that is the only downside. This facility is half the cost of any other place. They have things going on all the time for the people there.
