We are going to sign a contract with CaraVita Village. Everybody is very friendly and very lowkey. One of the secretaries had to bring her children to work with her today, and they were beautifully behaved. The dining room had white tablecloths on the tables. The conversation was good at the tables.
The amenities were absolutely amazing. They were having a luau the afternoon I was there. They have a designated area for the lady that runs the salon. They have a little Dollar Tree store, where everything in it is a dollar. It has a fully furnished library with computers. It has a swimming pool and so many places to enjoy the outdoors (when it's not 110 like it is here right now). There are umbrellas on patio tables and cushions on furniture on the porch. I was impressed.
I'm looking for the smallest apartment they had available, so we went with a studio apartment. My cousin can't manage a kitchen or anything like that, and this one has no kitchen. It has nothing that resembles anything to do with cooking food, and that's what I was looking for. It's got two big closets and a nice sized bathroom. Everything was clean. They come in and clean once a week. They also come in and do laundry. They come in and vacuum, clean the bathroom, and dust everything in the room every week.
The facility was clean and neat. There's a whole list of activities for the day. I ate lunch there. I asked the residents, "How do you like living here?" Two of the ladies said, "Well, it's not home, but we like it." That's what I wanted to hear. They said, "Everybody here is really nice to us." Everything was kept up. I didn't see anything that I thought needed repair. It really was good.

CaraVita Village was a nice and clean place. I looked at an efficiency room and it was nice. It had a refrigerator and microwave in it. They have a cafeteria that serves three meals a day and they add that to the price. The lady who toured me around was very nice, very kind, and very friendly. They had a nice courtyard and a schedule of numerous programs and activities. The price was just high for me.

The residents of CaraVita Village, along with its staff, were very, very inviting and cordial. It had a very kind atmosphere and they were just very welcoming and caring. I don't ever recall being anywhere with that kind of atmosphere. It was very inviting.
From the very first time I walked in, I looked at the lady who was giving the tour and she was just warm. She was very kind, really personable, and made me feel as if they love to have me living with them. There's a camaraderie that I've never seen anywhere else. Residents loved her, too. So, it's fantastic.
I saw several apartments and they were very roomy, very clean, and well kept. They care for the property with such high regard. They have a community life there where they have a calendar of activities for the residents all the time (on a daily basis or week by week). They put on parties for birthdays, movie nights, reading activities, and a nice library for those people who are interested in that as well (which I think is really great because I love to read). They also have sewing and knitting for some of the women. There's a lot of art going on there. As an artist myself, that spoke to me. It's great. Her attention to detail and representing CaraVita Village as a caring community were top-notch.
I had a very nice meal there. It's well prepared and nutritious, and the staff were wanting to serve you, wanting to be the best that they could be and put on a very good impression (not just impression but showing you that this is what you can expect daily). The facilities were clean and there were very lovingly kept gardens in the yard. The grounds were just very immaculate.

I really liked CaraVita Village. I like the staff and the friendliness of it. They have a beautiful swimming pool. They have a chef onsite that does the cooking. I liked the arrangement of the apartments better than others. The only reason I did not like it is because they did not have a walk-in shower in the one-bedroom apartment; it's hard for some seniors to be able to step over into a bathtub. It's very attractive. The staff was very kind.

I've toured CaraVita Village. They were very accommodating, and they were very sweet, nice people. They took me on a tour of the facility. I ate lunch with them, and the lunch was delicious. However, I just decided to find a place of my own where I can cook for myself, and I'm not obligated to eat there every meal. The rooms were painted nice with updated colors. Their countertops were fairly updated, and they had a dishwasher, a refrigerator, and a microwave, so that was good to know.

CaraVita Village was kind of dated inside. I know they're trying to fix it up, but it was showing some wear and tear. The staff seemed very nice. The guy who showed us around was a bit too much of a salesman for my liking. I think he was trying to sell it rather than to show it to us, so I didn't like that. There was a lot of construction going on when we were there that it was kind of hard to get a feel for how it was going to be.
The resident's rooms were very large. They were fixing them up, so I think they're going to be pretty nice. It's a very affordable place too. They had a pool in the courtyard, which was nice, a movie theater, and a restaurant type of dining area where you would sit at a table and they brought you a menu. It seemed a pretty clean area as well.

My tour at CaraVita was excellent. The living quarters were much better than the other facility. They were nice, and they were in the process of upgrading a lot of stuff. It would have been my choice if that's where I wanted to live, but I don't want to live in Montgomery. It's better, much nicer, and it seems more secure than the other facility.
CaraVita was very nice, the people were very nice, and the accommodations were much nicer. They had a yard you could walk in. It's a little wooded area, but they were upgrading it to where you could have your animal out there for a walk. It's a much better place; it's just in a bad part of town. They have a swimming pool, and I like the layout. You could sit outside and feel safe. If it wasn't so far down in Montgomery, it would have been a consideration for me.

My mom has been staying at CaraVita Village in Alabama for three years now. She really enjoys living there, and she's made a lot of good friends. She wishes they have more fresh vegetables though. She has a nice sized room that is bigger than a typical bedroom, and she has a private bathroom. The staff is lovely, very helpful and very nice. It's a very old building and it could use a little maintenance, but they have people that are working on the building all the time. They're doing the best they can with what they've got. For activities, they haven't been doing a lot this year.

My friend is staying in CaraVita Village. It is fine. It looks like they have done a lot of upgrades, so it is in a very good shape. It is also very clean. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I was there for a meal, and the meal was good. The dining area is very nice and clean. It has a lot of natural light, and it looks out over the pool area. It is a very good setting for the meals.

I was very familiar with CaraVita Village because I was with a group from my church that does concerts there. I also have a good friend that lives there and their prices are quite good. They have just about everything. They have groups that come in, games that you can do, transportation when you need it, wonderful meals, a beauty shop, and trips to the casinos. They serve three meals a day. I was very impressed with the staff, the manager, and the other residents. They were all very positive. They wanted to be sure everybody had what they wanted, and they were very helpful, and very accommodating.

Everybody in CaraVita Village were very friendly and helpful, from the lady that showed us the different facilities that they have available, to the cooking and cleaning staff. We chose this community because of the size of the rooms, the fact that there's somebody on the premises 24 hours a day, and the cost. My father-in-law's apartment is a 2-bedroom, 2 bath, with a mini-kitchen and sitting area. They furnish three meals a day, and they have a bus that takes the residents to their doctor, or to Walmart or the bank once a week. They have several different activities like church, choir, Bingo, art, or water aerobics.

We visited Cara Vita, and we liked it very well. It was real close to assisted-living, but we lived over an hour away from there. The person who assisted us was really good, the dining room was really good, and it was a big place.

CaraVita’s apartments were not nicer, but they did have a full kitchen. What I didn’t like about it was that the residents were living in separate buildings from the main building. If it were dark at night, you will be walking from one building to another in the dark, and it’s not in the best area. They don’t have security guards there all the time. It’s quite large.
The tour was not as nice, and the staff didn’t explain things to me because a couple of days later, she called me back, and I didn’t like the location.

This is an excellent home for independent living. It is a large facility, and includes a swimming pool. The staff is very courteous and helpful. When I am ready to make a change this is one of my first considerations.
