The Goldton at Athens was pretty good. They have a very welcoming community. They take really good care of everyone there. It's a small family basically. The rooms were very spacious. It allows a lot of the seniors to live comfortably, but also to have room for others to come visit if they need to stay for a little bit and have the space available for them. It's a lot more suitable when you have people that have collected so many things over the years. They have ample space for all of that. Everything was pretty much taken care of. There were washers and dryers in the units. They also do constant checking there. They were updating more equipment and everything. They make it a well-rounded community for seniors. It was a nice layout. They have menus posted and there's something specifically to your liking based on your needs. They got the bases covered.

My mother is going to stay where she is at now, which is The Goldton at Athens, and just move from the independent living into the assisted living. She doesn't want to do it until around the first of the year, but she's pretty much decided that she would just stay at the place where she is and just make a move just right across the street to assisted living.
They have many things available, but she has not taken advantage of those. She also moved in during COVID, so they had cut back on a lot of the stuff that they did. I know they take them to Walmart and to the grocery store. There's a little bus that will take them to doctors' appointments also.
She's been very pleased with the staff there. The upkeep and cleanliness are very good. The outside and inside appearances are neat and clean. My mom eats lunch and dinner in the dining hall, and she said the food is really good. The staff is very good and very responsive. The value for the money is very good.
