We had an excellent tour at Merrill Gardens at Madison. It's close to my son and it's got excellent food. It's well done and the big plus is you can eat 7 days a week, all three meals a day, and you can go in and eat anytime. They have washers and dryers in the units, which is a nice convenience. The downside was the expense. It was rather pricey. I would have a one-bedroom at another facility while I could only get a studio there. The staff was excellent. The service in the food was excellent. All of it was good. The sales manager was very helpful, answered all my questions, and was very good. The facility had excellent decor and was nice. They have quite an activity list.

Merrill Gardens at Madison was very nice. They had plenty of residents and they were very friendly. They had all sorts of amenities that would have been very nice for anyone. They allowed pets and they served food just about any time of day. It's clean. The rooms were small, but they were nice. They have a library, a game room, a community room, a TV room, movies, a popcorn machine, and all different things.

My in-laws already moved into Merrill Gardens at Madison. We really just like the facility in itself. We like the room and how it was laid out. We like the space, it had a washer and dryer in it, and a full kitchen. It's close to our house. We were like ten minutes away, so it's real convenient. We like the fact that if there's a need for more assistance, like if they go all the way up to memory care, they could stay where they're at. They don't have to move basically.
All the staff are really friendly and helpful. They seem to kind of go out of their way to answer your questions or get help when needed. In the restaurant, the feedback from my in-laws is that the food is OK to good. It's not excellent, but it's good, but I think that they get a little picky, but everybody there is super nice.
There are some activities they do. Yesterday they did horseshoe and cornhole. They do Wii games, shuffleboard I think, and they have a happy hour once a week. They actually have a shuttle that will take them to a church that they're attending.

Merrill Gardens at Madison was nice. The rooms were a little smaller and not many had balconies. Everything looked nice and clean. The staff was very helpful, too, and they had a courtyard, which was nice. We didn't get to tour the whole thing because of COVID. They have not opened up everything yet, but I know they had a bus that took the residents to their doctor's appointments, to Walmart, and to different places like grocery stores if they needed to go, and I think they take trips on them, too.

My mother has moved into Merrill Gardens at Madison and loves it. They have fabulous activities, it's clean, and everyone's friendly. They have open dining from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. They get to order off of a menu, so it's not like you're stuck with whatever was made that day. They have light housekeeping, and as needs change and they need more assistance, the assistant comes to them. They don't have to move from area to area. It's brand new and independent and then they have a scale that goes up as you need assistance, which they provide as well.

Merrill Gardens at Madison didn't have reserved parking, but the facility and dining room were very nice. The food was good. The people were nice, helpful, cordial, and very friendly. The apartments were very tiny. I'm not sure if you can even get a single bed in those bedrooms. Even if there was a reserved parking, we're not the only handicapped people who would be living there. Practically everybody is handicapped, so it won't be practical for us to try and live in a place like that. There isn't anything wrong with it. It just wasn't right for us.
