They only drive me to appointments but it is very helpful. However, there were staffing issues once so I could not get a caregiver.

They have trouble with employees right now. A lot of times they have to cancel, but it is a tough market, so I get it.

It has been excellent for my mom, her primary caregiver is great. I am long distance so having someone there to help my mom is amazing.
I would like them to make sure that they have caregivers that are engaging, not just staring at the client.

There is a variation in the people. Overall, they are very pleasant and very kind. Some of them are more helpful than others in terms of listening to what I have in mind to proceed to help me.
There is such a variance between the people I have had. Currently, I have just one or two caregivers. Initially, there were a large number of people coming into my home and it was difficult to keep track of them.

BrightStar Care needed to give more training and more explaining to the caregivers on what they are supposed to do and how well they need to do it.
A few of the people who came were excellent, some were good and two of the caregivers were poor. BrightStar Care needs to have more consistency in the performance of the staff.

It's getting to the point where if I didn't have help, we might have to go into a home. They're making it so we don't have to do that. They are having staffing issues, like everywhere else.
The people in the office listen and work with me to try to find what type of staff that I need.

They were not helpful to me at all. I really don't want them back.
I would not recommend them at all. I had an accident and had feces in my underwear, and they did not even clean it out. It was sent through the washer. It was a mess.

BrightStar Care helps me to do things I am not able to do as I have MS and it is nice to know I have someone there for me to do things. They follow through with what you ask them to do.
BrightStar Care does a very good job as I have had them for as long as I have been in this apartment. They listen to what you want to be done and I like that.

I don't have to worry about her. They are there to help her with chores and make sure that she's taken care of.
The people are so friendly. Anytime there is a change in the schedule, they let us know. It has been a lifesaver for my mom.

I can't clean because of debilitating pain. It used to take me over a week to clean my house so the services are life-changing.
The company is kind of short on help lately so they can't always come to care for me. They also have not called me a few times when no one was going to be coming.

Not at all reliable.
Poor communicators.
They canceled four times out of 8 (in two week period) with 2 hours notice.
They send aides who have never been here without informing us.
They have a very high employee turnover rate.

If more of the money that we paid would actually go to the people that are working that would be better. I asked them how much they make and it really should be more. The quality of people was variable. I would like to see them be paid more so they could be retained longer.

It's pretty essential. My sister and I both have full time jobs and wanted to care of him at home. I like the flexibility of the schedule and the caregiver's caring nature.
I would tell a friend that I found them to be flexible and caring. They were also consistent with the caregiver. During covid we were able to get the same caregiver every time.

I always have to think of jobs that I had to give them. Some would just jump in and do the work, and others do not.
One thing that I did not like was the hours of the last caregiver. She came from 4:30-7:30pm and I did not like that. I would like them to come early afternoon.

They are good at making sure he is up in the morning. They do his laundry. They scrub is kitchen.
I have nothing to compare BrightStar to. My brother in-law only gets one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening. It doesn't give them much time to do what he expects.

I hired Brightstar to give my mom her medications twice daily and have her drink a prescribed amount of water at each visit. To me it seemed very straightforward. I hired this company because I had heard good things. Unfortunately over a three month period they failed to correctly follow the care plan at least a half dozen times. The biggest issue is that if they did not administer the medications or the water, the staff manager was not willing to send someone out to rectify the issue and give the medications or water, whichever was missed. She said they would only do so if the medications or the water prescription was not administered three times in a row, and she's not a doctor. Wow. At that point my mom would be at real risk. It seems to me that this company is still in business only because there aren't many alternatives for home care. Very very shocked at the management's lack of actually "caring".

I have to show somebody that is new what they need to do. I don't see the same caregiver every time.
