I am a client of SYNERGY HomeCare of Waupaca. Overall, it is good and bad. The Veterans pay for the gentleman that I have come in. They are double charging because the Veterans are paying for it. They told me they get $30 an hour, and Jerry is here for 3 hours; however, they charge the Veterans for six. I don't think that's right. He sits here and watches television with him to make sure he doesn't fall. I'm only gone for 3 hours, and I come right back. My husband's able to pretty much get around on his own and do his own thing. I just don't want him to fall or walk away because he does have dementia.
Jerry is awesome. We love him to pieces. He has became one of the family already. He really does a wonderful job. Too bad they don't have more men because that is perfect for my husband. The scheduling is worked out, but the billing is all screwed up. I think they are ripping the Veterans off, and I don't like that part. If you worked for 3 hours, why should you get paid for six. They said, "Well, the Veterans must think your husband is worth it."

The caregivers have helped the most by cleaning the shower stall, the toilet, and the counters. They help a lot.
I would recommend the agency. I like that we don't even have to tell them what to do. They just do it. I get done in the kitchen and they sweep, mop, and clean.

They have made my experience positive because I need somebody 24 hours a day and they're providing that. Since I need 24 hour service, I am never left alone like some other companies will do.
I like that they provide good service. They're still providing it for me on a daily basis. Even when they're low staff, they seem to keep up what they promised.

They're not stuffy like the other agencies. It's like you've known the caregiver your whole life; they are easy to talk to - like a next-door neighbor.
It's totally different. They do more with you than other companies do.

We did not realize the first caregiver we had was not vaccinated. My mom is over 80 years old, also she left before the 3 hours minimum.

They have helped me to have more energy for activities that I want to do. They can have a greater impact in my daily life by remembering that young people are disabled too.
I like that they have communicated with me well, even when short-staffed. I would tell a friend that as long as you tell them who you are and what you need, they will do their best to accommodate what you are asking for or point you in another direction for help.
