About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

Staff always arrive on time. They do light house keeping while there. They are there in case my husband falls while I am away. They have all been friendly.

Home Instead was an excellent resource for us. They were punctual, helpful and caring. Even with my constantly changing hours at work. Home Instead was still able to provide care givers for us for the times and days we needed. We have a unique situation where great grandma lives with our young family. The Home Instead care givers were wonderful with Grandma and also with interacting with our two kids and day to day changing schedules. I felt comfortable leaving for work knowing an adult was in the house to care for grandma. They had great communication and I felt she had consistent care regardless of which person we had. Home Instead was just what we needed and really helped us transition into having grandma in our home and still allowing me to work full time.

Home Instead caregivers have provided excellent care for my mom--always prompt, courteous and competent and willing to help however needed with personal care, house duties, grocery shopping, errands, etc. This agency has made it possible for my mom to remain as independent as can be in her home environment.

In general, caretakers are very good. My pet peeve is when they come early. I'm always ready on time, but not early. My favorite is Janet, who knows her way around.

Great service and extremely pleased with my caregiver provided. She comes here Tuesday and Wednesday mornings for 3 hours each day, 7:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Does serious duties for me including cooking and meals for future use. Also happy with the manager.

When I had a concern with the second caregiver we were sent, they listened ang agreed that she needed additional training. When I requested that she not return here, they agreed.
The other caregiver we had two times, and she did things I suggested, and even did proactive other things.
As we saw our doctor today, I told him that we used Home Instead and recommended good highly.

I was very happy with the care and services we received from Home Instead. My Mom's situation was difficult and they stuck by her when I'm not sure all companies would have.

We've been quite pleased with Home Instead care givers. They are caring, punctual, eager-to-please, and hard working. The owner takes pride in the care they provide and is happy to accommodate our specific needs. I can't say enough about the peace of mind their service provides.

Stacy is a caregiver for my mother who has Alzheimer. From the first day Stacy has been a great caregiver. She is a worker. She can see what needs to be done and does it! Stacy is also very polite and caring. She also is very patient with my mom who has cooked and cleaned for 65 years. When Stacy cooks she gets my mom to work along side her. Stacy also has a great personality and lovely smile! It is a comfort to me to see my mom and dad receiving such good care!

We were really pleased with Home Instead Senior Care. They are knowledgeable with what they are doing, and they seem to work real close with us with what we wanted and needed. We were really satisfied with them.

Home Instead Senior Care did a good job of matching a caregiver to my mother's needs, and they've been flexible as far as when I needed extra hours. I just give them a call and tell them what I need. We've been using them for eight weeks now. Most of them are really good. We had one that wasn't very good, but they were quick to place her somewhere else.

They provide excellent care from office staff to home care providers. I would highly recommend this agency for home care.

I'm using Home Instead Senior Care in Janesville, Wisconsin. I've used them for over five years now. They've always been really good about working with me if I'm unhappy with something or want to see a situation changed. I've got three caregivers now who come to take care of my mom on a rotating basis and all three are excellent. They're very good, very caring, very nice and they kind of adopted my mom. They do light housekeeping, run errands, pick groceries for mom and make sure her meds are up to date. I would recommend them to anyone. We lost my dad and part of the reason that my dad was able to stay in the home was he had hospice but most of the care was given by Home Instead so we ended up almost with 24 hour care like the last month that he was alive but it allowed him to stay at home so that was a big plus.

Before my father passed away, we hired Home Instead for him. I chose this provider because I'm personally familiar with them and because they were readily available. They were excellent. My feedback on their services is very positive. They have multiple caregivers and they were very good. They're very empathic and helpful. They were willing to do anything that my parents needed at that time. They have an open attitude that I like best about them. My parents used them for three and a half months. The only thing they could improve on is the consistency of the caregivers that they are sending.

Annie the care taker has done an excellent job. She is very caring and became a friend. She comes for 3 hours, one day a week.

I wish there were more crosstraining with current care givers. At times a new caregiver comes in that has never been there before. They should also be adept at understanding insulin pens as they are paid for specialized care. Two of our caregivers are excellent!
