About This Community
Our family of caregivers provide peace of mind for you and your loved ones. Our caregivers are employees of the agency that are certified, go through an extensive interview and background check, and receive significant ongoing training from the company.
We offer three services
1) caregivers in your home or place of residence,
2) a digital angel that is connected to an urgent response center, which is available 24 hours a day
3) daily angel care calls with email notifications to loved ones sharing how the client is doing.
The goal of the agency is to fulfill our mission to provide the highest quality homecare guided by our values, which are the opportunity to serve, leading from the heart, and keeping our commitments, so that we can achieve the vision of the company to make life better so that everyone chooses us and no one leaves. We value learning and employ a continuous quality improvement approach.
Our services allow people to maintain the independence of their daily routines and familiar surroundings as well as recovery in the privacy of their own home. Our commitment to you is simple: We will help you or your loved one continue to live at home.

There have been a few issues, but they have corrected them. The client needs to communicate if there's something that isn't right.

Be very careful before working with VA. My mother was ABANDONED by caregivers on several shifts while I was out of town, against their own policy. For her, this could easily have been a fatal safety issue.

It's frustrating when you get a new person every other week. The impact is very poor. I don't feel like we are getting our money's worth for what we have to pay and what he is receiving.
They need to have better communication. Our biggest problem is that our dad is 91 years old and they are sending us caregivers who are non native English speakers and he can't understand them. We need them to cook for him and out of 6-7 caregivers only one was able to cook regular American food for him.

They need to staff up. I understand that's a problem, but their staff was limited, and some of the people they sent here were not appropriate.

On the days we had caregivers, the client just lit up. They were always very open to do whatever the client wanted.
I liked the casualness and the compassion that the caregivers we got brought. They weren't stiff and rigid in having to follow specific routines.

They are always very helpful, there's been a couple of times when they count send someone but they send someone soon.
I really haven't used other cares, but Visiting Angels is the most flexible when it comes to care provides and that was really important to me.

We've asked for caregivers with experience with dementia, but the client doesn't want a caregiver that isn't family.
There's a lack of caregivers right now, but I think they need to do a better job following the plan of care.

I am not in town, and the client has no one else to take care of him. It makes my life a little better. However, the hardest thing is not knowing if people are coming or not.
There should be more consistency. We have had to change caregivers and some have not done what we have needed.

I'm independent. I like doing my own things but I really can't do my own things right now. I may not need them forever, but right now I do.
It's my first experience. Sometimes I'm happy, sometimes I'm not. One thing they could do better is, I find one of my caregivers a little bossy. She likes to tell me what to do instead of vice versa, and she doesn't like to take me in her car.

They give me enough time to get some items done. I can coordinate and keep the house going while they are there. They keep her out of a home.
It's nice to have a place to call to coordinate the care. We have two people that come out. They have procedures that they follow when it comes to Covid.

I don't know what she could do better. She is out shopping right now. She comes and tidies up the bed.
We have had two different angels. One lady wanted to be more of a companion than a helper. She weighed about 250 lbs. She could hardly get up and down the stairs. We use a chair lift. She couldn't fit on it. She about gave us a heart attack. She couldn't get things off the shelf. We got a better one now.

One of the things I asked them to do for my mother is that she lost weight and for them to make sure that she was eating.
They send the same caregiver, most of the care places send random people. Visiting Angels assigns the caregiver and then sends the same person each time. They are good about communicating with me.
