We really like the communication and check ins to see how things are going. You truly feel like they are working with you and part of the family of people helping to care for our mom. They are really great at helping around the house to clean and do some cooking.

Home Instead is an outstanding company to deal with. They help with care for a family member. Everyone I work with at the company seems to love what they do from the Wayne in the office scheduling shifts every caregiver and Diane the supervisor. They all go above and beyond any expectations I ever had.

We used Home Instead Senior Care. They were fine initially, and then they really weren't. They could not keep their people because they had nobody in our area. They sent somebody who was so incredibly nasty to Dad and it turned out that she'd been asked to drive two and a half hours each way to cover a three hour shift. It started out wonderful. The caregiver we had found a second job aside from Home Instead, so she started missing our shift. Home Instead did not know and got upset about it, and she quit. After that we never had a regular person again. We went for a while with one person showing up for only part of a shift, and somebody else finishing the shift, which is very difficult for a patient with dementia. They even got to the point where they couldn't find anybody to send.

My mother is able to do a lot on her own but the providers who care for her help her with errands, cleaning and just checking on her and it is a godsend to her children to know she is being well looked after. We're so grateful for Home Instead - the managers, schedulers and care givers. It is a wonderful service.

Personalities matter. Our helper is cheerful, very thorough and tries to insure her work follows our living patterns. She listens and works together with us to strengthen daily living.

I am responding as the Individual who is receiving great support from provider. She comes to my apartment twice a week -- 2 hours each time. I am over 90 years old and walk with a cane. I can't drive and caregiver takes me shopping each Monday morning to buy groceries for the week. She comes on Wednesday to be close by when i take a bath and wash my hair. We have come to be great friends with similar senses of humor and comfortable talking about almost anything with each other -- offering real insight into issues that need to be faced in any family.

My mother who had Parkinson's Disease wanted to remain in her home as long as possible. With the help of the caregiver from Home Instead, she not only received some much needed help with her personal care and household, she also had a wonderful companion who she related to very well. She laughed, talked about her fears, sang and shared some wonderful memories with her caregiver and new friend.
