They come and help by me with things like making me lunch and breakfast.
So far, it's been okay. I have had no problems with the care. If they have any problems, they keep me abreast of it.

The caregivers have been really good with my mom. We do not want to put her in a home. My dad can rest.

As we learn how to use BrightStars people, we are learning that there are people better suited for my wife's needs.
I like the availability to talk to someone in the BrightStar Care office when I need to.

They were very attentive. The care level was normally good.
I like that they talk to me, the communication is good. If someone didn't show up, they would let us know.

It allows me to have some free time.
They could have better communication with clients. I'd like to know the hours someone will be working or if someone will not be coming to the house as scheduled. They're a little lax about the amount of time they give me for telling me something is wrong.

The caregivers were late a few times, or they didn't show up which made it difficult for me.
They were easy to reach because they answered right away if I called them.

Having the agency around could be better if the caregivers just did their jobs.
The agency could do a lot better in terms of taking care of the client. They spend way too much time on their phones.

It has helped some and has left me stranded at time, sometimes their scheduling is not what it needs to be.
I would tell my friend that they often make promises they cannot keep. They do a good job with their staff.

The only schedule I could do is early morning and it went well.
They did not have good communication. I called in the day before to say we would not need the services and they still sent someone. They did a good job overall.

It was the individuals they hired that made our experience positive. Their focus was on my father's comfort. They were very responsive to any communication.
I liked that most of BrightStar's caregivers were excellent. They had a couple that failed to show up on time. They were even three hours late. But then, it sort of balances out with the good caretakers, which were the majority. The caretakers were very caring, very professional, and very understanding.

Interacting with my cousin more would be very helpful.
They can allow the caregivers to speak to me. I'm having them take care of my cousin, but I am not allowed to speak to them directly on the phone. It's very inconvenient.

They can come on time and they can be more communicative with their people. They kept coming to the wrong address. When they were here, they moved stuff around too much.
They are very late almost every time they are supposed to show up.

They did not ever lift their fingers. They decided that I only needed 4 hours of care.

The caregivers they sent us where very capable and pleasant people. They provided top notch care.
I like their flexibility and we where not locked into a set schedule based on the caregivers schedule, they based it off our schedule and needs.

I have only had them three times, but they need to be more upfront about time schedules and pricing.
They are not upfront with their pricing. I wasn't told there was an assessment fee. I had a person come sit with my husband and they had Asthma. My husband smokes, so she just left. I told them my husband smokes and they still sent her.

I have private caregivers most of the time and it's a lot easier to deal with them rather than an agency. The BrightStar caregivers haven't really made a difference.
They could have a little lower price. If they had evening hours that went a little later that would be good.

She was a great person to have in our home, and we all loved her.
I liked that I could talk to anyone anytime I needed to, and that the owner came to the house to talk to us.

We had one good caregiver who I enjoyed working with, but all the others were not satisfactory. They could screen the caregivers better to be a better match. When a problem came up I felt like at times I was being lied to.
I cannot recommend them to anyone for this specific location in Richmond. It is not well managed and the caregivers could be screened better. We did have only one good caregiver.

They have helped her a lot and it is so great that the caregiver has additional CNA training.
The first day we were expecting them, no one showed up and they were able to solve that mistake right away.

We needed somebody to drive my mother. The first day they showed up without a car. We never knew if the caregivers were even there.
I was told that I would receive a schedule, and they didn't give that.

They are flexible enough to come at the time my parents need. They are punctual and there are no delays.
The caregiver has done a great job! My parents are not easy to provide service for, but he has done a skillful job working with them and not just telling them what to do.

My mother has been able to stay at home. Them coming in and taking care of her saves my sister and I some time so we don't have to drive down there.

Our biggest concern was safety. She had a brain injury so walking and falling was our biggest priority.
I like that I did not have to worry about someone being there. They all took care of the schedule. There are multiple people.

The caregivers we have now are outstanding. My mom has a comfort level with them.
When we started out we were both learning about each other. They should find a way to ensure that their employees are reading about the care and understand it before they come on site. We use 2-3 caregivers now. Jessica and India are outstanding. We did go through a few bad ones who did not show up or were late. Originally it was not good. Lately we have found a stride.

There really was no effect on his life.
They were easy to arrange but it depends on what they needed. If they need someone for companionship I wouldn't recommend them but for more medical things I would.

There were two caregivers that were consistent and they were excellent. I was very pleased with them.
At first, I found that it was very hard for them to be consistent with the people they sent into my home. The office staff was always polite, but they weren't consistent with what they would say. I think the office had a lot of turnover with people.

It is nice to have someone there, so that I don't have to be there every single day.
There has been one aide we have had issues with. The one aide arrived late. The person who's shift she was relieving would be upset. Sometimes you get bad apples. The rest of the aides have been super.

The family got the greater impact because we knew that he was being checked on and that they were keeping him safe.
From what he said, when they came, they would only do what he asked them to do. They were only there if I needed something. They were on their phones and would sit and not talk to me unless I asked them to do something.

They didn't know her and they weren't her family so I don't think they could have been as good as family, but they did talk to her and treat her like a person as well as a patient.
The first girl they sent was outstanding and there was only one who was not very helpful so for an overall experience they were qualified and knew what to do.

He feels like he doesn't need it but it really helps my sister because she was not caring for herself. It has made an impact for her. She is not one who likes to ask for help.
My sister had no prior knowledge of what the schedule was supposed to be. There were different people showing up at different times. They came 45 minutes later than what was expected.

I had to tell them what to do, and they could have asked me if they could do certain things for me. They could more proactive.
They could have a more willingness to do things. I didn't get the impression that they were happy with where they were and doing what they were doing.

What I was hiring them to do was to take her to an appointment to have her hair done, and of the three times they provided services they were late. And another time she ended up having distress and the visit did not go well.
I think the main issue would be that they need to be more reliable in the services that performed.

Most of the people do a pretty good job, and some do an excellent job, but they don't come often.
When I first made the arrangements, they said they were getting a team together so they would know how to handle my wife. I have had a bunch of different people coming in, and I don't like that.
