About This Community
I am Rebecca Bodor, proud owner of Homewatch CareGivers of Loudoun. My husband Tim and I are natives of Northern Virginia and its surrounding communities. We have enjoyed raising our family here and taking advantage of all that this area has to offer. I made the decision to be involved in work that provided a meaningful service and a way to give back to our community.
Both Tim and I have experienced the struggles of finding the right home care for our families. In the 1990’s, Tim’s mother had the challenge of a husband with dementia. At that time, she felt there were no other options other than to put him in an institution. Ten years later while we were living abroad, Tim’s mother faced another challenge of having to struggle with cancer on her own, unable to find adequate in-home care before she passed away.
I came into this business not only as an owner, but as a client. After my father had a stroke in 2015, my parents had to face the very difficult decisions that need to be made regarding aging and their care. The vast amount of information and resources out there can be overwhelming! We continue to experience the emotional toll this takes on a family and I understand the difficult task of choosing care for the people you love. I believe my personal experiences give me a unique understanding in how to provide a better service to our clients.
Our guiding principle is to provide our clients with the kind of service that we would want for our own families. I understand how it feels to bring someone into your home when there is a need for professional care, and we make every effort to match our clients with the right caregiver. We strive to give our caregivers a great place to work, where they feel valued and part of our extended family. By doing so, we know our caregivers will extend those feelings to our clients.

My caregiver is not here every day, but when she is, she is excellent. My caregiver has helped me the most by being pleasant to be around. She comes in, and she does what she's supposed to do. That's all I need.

It's only once a week but they are able to help him shower. The caregiver has been able to provide my father with discrete care.
I appreciated the flow of communication. We had one misunderstanding but they were able to fix the issue.

We had to go through 2 or 3 caregivers before we found a good one. Once we found the right one, I started seeing an impact on my daily life, but before that I didn't.
They need to invest more in training newer caregivers. They also need to keep track of how well their employees are doing in the homes and treating those patients.

I felt like the care was what she needed.
I liked that the owner came out and did the initial interview. He was very hands-on. He made every effort to try to accommodate our schedule. The feeling was that the people he was hiring were a little more experienced.

They do chores around the house that we are no longer able to do. Jane fell and was unable to do laundry and other daily chores and my health makes me unable to pick up the slack so they were able to help us with that.

The care is absolutely needed. She needs to be cared for and they provide skilled caregivers until I come home. I feel safe to travel and go to work. Without them, I couldn't do either.
I like them because of their flexibility in getting quality caregivers over to me, even when I need to change my schedule.

Sometimes I feel like I cannot detach as quickly as I would like to, and it is pricy. If It weren't so expensive, we could afford to have them more often.
It is a little pricey, and there have been a few issues in consistency of the caregivers. There is turnover. They have been very good at trying to cover.

They help with meal preparation which is most important to me because I can't do it myself and my wife has dementia and she forgets to do it.
I like that we've had a long relationship with them and the care providers have been excellent. They've been responsive to my concerns.

The younger one needed a lot of supervision, a lot of things she could not do without supervision. She often would leave wet things in the washing machine. She had trouble poring the bleach. She couldn't follow the recipe very well. One was young and not as experienced, I preferred the older one.

They need to get their stuff back with their scheduling.
Some of the people were great, but a lot of the other people needed a lot of supervision. It was difficult because I was not in a position to do that for myself. One issue was that I needed help during bed and to have ice.

I can't get up to do things myself. I can't hold a cup of soup. They help me in anyway. They help me with the shower and bathroom. They stand there with me.
They always have me covered. Sometimes it's with somebody that is not good. I complain, and they rectify it. They are always there for me. I have them for four hours during the week and two hours during the weekend. Homewatch has the best caregivers in Loudoun County, and they are the only ones that I can recommend.

We weren't able to get the same service provider every time. Some were good, but there were others that my dad didn't feel comfortable with. We wanted the same person consistently. They were not able to do that for us.

They made my life easier because I was the caregiver. They helped with cleaning and laundry. Some of the ladies were really nice, but whoever was with my father in the morning should be fired.
They should have called 911 if my dad could not get out of bed. He was completely out of it.

I can only afford 4 days, but I would like to have 5 days. I pay them to care, so they care. They take care of him in the nursing home, and that way, I don't have to worry that he is not getting what he needs from the center. He is getting the care from the caregivers from Homewatch.
I like the flexibility. They have all kinds of skills.

It has helped her improve 100%. Her daily life is more regulated. She is more alert and walks more. She isn't afraid to fall. She isn't apprehensive to do anything. She has gone from sitting around to do things.
I like the approachability, care, and how it's organized. They are personable. I have the best caregiver in the world for my mother.

I was able to get the people that my mother was comfortable with after the first time. After the first time, they were able to supply the right person. My mother is 87, and you have to make them feel comfortable, especially when I'm away.

It is very difficult because it is so irregular, making me unable to keep my schedules regular. It is hard sometimes to get food because they don't like the food that I eat.
They keep sending different people all the time. There is no continuity. Things aren't going so well right now.
