We've just really started. This will be the first week we have the same person working with him. For me, I need to be at my dad's house whenever a new person has come in. Since there have been so many new people coming in, it's been frustrating. When someone is there with my dad, and helping him, it takes a lot off of my shoulders.
They're very easy to contact. I've never called them and not have someone answer the phone instead of "We'll call you back." They've pretty much have always tried to get me what I need. My dad isn't the easiest person to be with, and we've had some back and forth, and they've been supportive.

On 05/14/22 the caregiver who was assigned did not show and no one answered the phone. The caregiver canceled and it left me in a hotel room by myself 500 miles away from my home.

The caregivers came in the morning and I had one at night. I am trying to stay at my house as long as I can. I have always been independent and I am proud of that. My caregivers helped me the most by taking care of my meals. My caregivers took care of me.
The nurses were fine. I had a nurse during the night and during the day. They were very good. I liked that I was taken care of.

The lady that we ended up with after a few tries, Debbie, was excellent. She did a terrific job. She was steady and reliable.
The quality of the caregivers and their training could be better. They could have fit a caregiver better to my wife's needs.

It's some companionship for the client and she isn't demanding a lot. We hoped that this would be provided with a way to get out to the store or other errands but this particular caregiver doesn't have a vehicle. She's perfectly fine and mom loves her to death.
We are hoping to get more feedback as to what the caregiver is seeing when she is there and it seems like that is kind of impossible. I asked to speak to the caregiver and I cannot do that so I don't have a good way of contacting the caregiver for her opinion and no one from the office is calling to tell me how it's going.

I've been using Care Advantage - Charlottesville for more than two years now for my mother. They're sending a lady into her home to assist with the everyday things, keeping the house fixed up, and keeping an eye on my mom to be sure she eats and takes her medication. They also take her to run errands, which is very helpful as far as the family is concerned. The one she has now, I like her a lot. She's on the younger side, but she was very cooperative with the family, which I think is important. She will reach out to me. I got a text from her today. We text back and forth if something's going on or if it's just something she wants me to know. We've gotten comfortable now with each other. She has only been there maybe three months because we had a couple of turnover situations. My mom is not an easy one to handle, and she seems to be able to so far at least sidestep, and handle my mom fairly well. I like her because she stays in contact with the family to see what's going on. I've had some discouraging moments with Care Advantage though, but it's better now because the girl has come and communicates with me.

The first girl was wonderful. The last caregiver was terrible. I hope she was fired.

My dad is a fall-risk, but he is fairly self-sufficient at bathroom functions, which is when he falls. He also needed meal preparation.
I liked how they were willing to work on a very short notice, and were flexible in working out the schedule and meeting our requirements.

I am using Care Advantage for my mother. They help with bathing, toileting, and getting food. The caregivers are very good, very responsive, and good with communications and everything. The main person we've had went on vacation and they had to send somebody else out, but they filled the spot. There was only one person that they sent that didn't work out.

They made a huge difference. My dad was caring for my mom which was not working out, and I live out of town.
For one thing, we had to get someone in there right away, and they had someone start the next day. They are quick to respond. We went through a few caregivers before we found a good fit, which would happen with any company. The ones who have stayed have been excellent.

Of all of the caregivers we have had from Care Advantage, some of the individuals they sent put a tremendous amount of effort into her care, but some did not.

Basically, all of the caregivers are extremely conscientious, and they are capable of the work. They office staff is very responsive to our needs and problems.

It was a very little impact. They should not have just sat in the living room. I was recuperating from spinal surgery, and so there were a lot of things I couldn't do. They were pleasant but weren't interested in doing anything else except being on their phones.

They wasted my time. I lost all the time I waited for them to come, and the time I took educating the supervisor that came to talk to me and give me all the paperwork. They seemed very sincere, but it was a waste of time because it didn't work at all.
I would not recommend them. They could do what they promised to do, like in any contract. People that need Care Advantage need someone to do the work and not have to stand over the caregiver and make sure they don't leave.
