About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

We are using Home Instead. They have been great and helpful. They help with the extra cleaning that I can't take care of. They help with the laundry. They've been helping with getting things organized and making sure that my mom's eating. They've been doing a great job getting all the stuff taken care of. They were very positive and helped me to relieve a lot of anxiety and a lot of guilt that I have. The staff was very nice, personable, and very good at communicating. They try and provide the best care that they can within the legal guidelines. They can't force my mom to do stuff, which is nice. They have excellent communication. They assign one or two care providers for a client like my mom. But if that person for some reason is out sick, they will call, and first off, make sure it's OK to send somebody else out. They send a supervisor as well to introduce everyone. So they are very good at getting all of those details.

Lola with Home Instead was amazing to work with. She and her team made it so much easier for my family to deal with my Father when he was in need of assistance. The care that they gave him was wonderful. They were so compassionate and kind. It made us all feel at ease. We knew that we could trust the people in our home and with our Dad. We have come to trust the ability of Home Instead to provide our grandma with reliable, professional, and competent care in spite of the challenges posed by the recent pandemic. Their flexibility allows them to respond to our constantly changing scheduling requirements. Because their caregivers truly have a “caring heart” they connect well with grandma and provide her with genuine, compassionate, emotional support. The Home Instead team has a wide rage of skills that enable them to provide sensitive personal care services as well as perform light housekeeping tasks. Our family appreciates the individual strengths of each caregiver: Cindy’s punctuality and reliability; Hortensia’s professionalism and ability to efficiently complete needed household tasks and at the same time spend quality time with grandma; and Sarah’s genuine empathy and compassion that energizes all of her interactions with grandma. Sam D. and her team are extremely responsive and flexible in meeting the needs of my father. I also appreciate the online tool which provides notes after each visit, allowing me to monitor my fathers care remotely.

My Mom was a client of Home Instead for over 5 years until she passed away recently. Remaining at home was very important to her and she was physically unable to do so absent significant help. Home Instead made it possible for Mom to remain at home. The caregivers helped Mom with her personal needs and helped her with housework and cooking. Most importantly, they provided her with companionship. I found the aides to be professional, knowledgeable, caring and compassionate. They showed love for my Mom and she loved them back. I would not hesitate to recommend Home Instead.

We really appreciate the willingness and enthusiasm to help us in ANY way possible to make anything possible. Our mothers' needs seem to change on a constant basis and the staff are so willing to accommodate whatever we think will be the best solution. They are helpful with suggestions when we have questions. They do everything they can to make sure mom is comfortable and well taken care of. It has made this time of our lives more peaceful knowing everything is well taken care of and less stressful as we take care of the other responsibilities of our lives. Thank you so much!

The nursing staff was excellent. Their sincere thoughts and care were outstanding. They were extremely responsive with all desired requests. Their communication skills and attention to details were very comforting to our family during our grieving process. The franchise owner, Sam defined excellence and professionalism at all levels. We highly recommend Home Instead to all who require their service.

Home Instead gave my mom and dad the ability to stay in their own home. The care they got was exceptional. The caregivers were more than employees and they became friends. Lori, Kalisi and Maria went above and beyond and I thank them for all they did.

From a fellow family members recommendation I contracted with this organization to provide home care services for my mother. They were timely and professional in their response to our needs. Amazingly I was able to make these arrangements and coordinate her care 800 miles away from my residence in CA. This was my mother’s first experience with "home care support" so I was a bit concern how it would go. It went very well from the first orientation visit through all the daily visits. Thanks to the good care provided and mother's dedication to getting stronger we have transitioned to periodic support visits. She was pleased with all the caring people who provided this high-level of care and support the past month.

I love Home Instead. I have used several home care agencies in the past, and this is by far the best agency. I received a personal visit from the owner to initiate services, and I was introduced to my caregiver before she came for her first visit. Although I have only received services for a month, my caregiver has become a trusted resource and a great friend.
Nowhere else have I encountered an agency where the owner takes time to meet her patients. Most importantly, my caregiver, Terrie, has removed a tremendous burden from my wife. We are so appreciative of Home Instead.

Sam, owner of Home Instead, is truly passionate about what she does. She has been a great resource of knowledge and advice for caring for my father. She has always been available to discuss any concerns I have or new ideas. She is very knowledgeable about services and resources available that can be helpful for elderly care. One feature I like about Home Instead is that they use an automated alert system that lets them know if a caregiver does not check in when expected. In that case, they can send a replacement if necessary. This gives me sense of security that my father will not be left without the care he needs as has happened with other agencies.

Simply the best. I think the word 'amazing' is overused, but it the case of Home Instead, they have been far more than amazing. Their motto of "To us, it's personal" is an exact description of how they provide their services. Home Instead was recommended to me by both friends and co-workers who have and are using this service. ALL are in agreement they are the absolute best at what they do.
