About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

We are so thankful to have been matched up with Beverly. She genuinely cared about my Grandma. She loved her and my Grandma loved her back. We can never thank her enough for all she did for my Grandma. She’s truly such a blessing. We are so glad. Beverly got to see her on the day she passed, and we have comfort in knowing that my Grandma was not alone in her final hours.

Home Instead caregivers took care of my Mother for at least 4 years. My Mom was in an assisted living facility in New Braunfels, but needed additional help as she had Alzheimer’s disease. My Mom would fall out of her chair or fall during moving around her room. As her disease advanced, she was also not aware of her surroundings and would become disoriented , and could not feed herself or walk any longer. The Home Instead caregivers feed her, and watched over her to ensure she was safe and comfortable. Because of the sitters, I could travel and have a life outside my Mom’s needs.. The caretakers were wonderful, and I cannot say enough about Home Instead.

My wife is confined to bed and I have a job that keeps me on the road most days. We needed someone to stay with her when I was out and Home Instead was the perfect choice. Our caregivers have been outstanding and have become part of our family. They take excellent care of her and are a big help to me as well. We are totally satisfied with our decision to use Home Instead.

My family booked overnight attendants for my father after surgery. All Home Instead staff were congenial, eager to help with light housework and interesting folks my father enjoyed meeting. They cooked breakfast before leaving their 9 pm - 9 am shift. Home Instead worked hard to accommodate our desired shifts in the two weeks following the overnight stays.

We used Home Instead to help with care of my mother. They did a wonderful job. All of our caregivers were kind, compassionate and very helpful. They were very supportive when my mom’s health declined.
My mom was bedridden and not able to get up on her own. The caregivers helped get her up in a chair and helped with feeding, when needed. They dressed her every morning, with grooming.
They took care of personal needs and kept her turned while she was in bed. They gave her breathing treatments. They visited with her and told her about their families. They became part of our family.
They were trustworthy and honest and always on time. We highly recommend Home Instead for their caregiving services. We appreciate everything they did to help my mom. When I had a concern or question, they always listened and tried to accommodate our needs. All of the staff, from the office staff and management, to the caregivers did a great job. Than you!

My husband and I are caregivers for my father in law. He had come home from rehab and we were not sure we could take care of him at home, and very nervous. I sent an email on a Saturday to check out the Home Instead services and received a call right away. WOW, a Saturday. That was awesome! I was able to get all of my questions answered on the phone and what a relief.
The folks that came out daily were incredibly kind, professional and top notch. I highly recommend Home Instead. The pricing is fair and the services are great.

Wonderful, caring, professional caregivers were with my mother around the clock, seven days a week while recovering from a broken hip. Communication between the caregivers to each other was on point!! Carla was awesome, and gave me and my family peace of mind!!! At the end of March, Home Instead will have cared for my 89-year-old father for one year.
I greatly appreciate the excellent level of care the Home Instead team provides; the skill and kindness the caregivers show, and the flexibility and readiness of the staff in scheduling.
The caregivers provide not just daily needed assistance with medication and blood pressure reminders, dressing, feeding and bathing, but also the interaction, conversation, and activities that my Dad is hungry for. This includes driving him to his physical therapy appointments and short errands.
Dad and I are happy with his growing abilities due to the excellent care he has received! Likewise, my independence has grown knowing that Dad is well cared for. You will be confident in knowing your loved one is receiving the best care when you can't be there.

Home Instead has been a lifesaver for our family the last two months. The caregivers are professional, friendly, and go above and beyond to be helpful. Their kindness is like none we have ever encountered with other service providers. The office staff is always available to answer questions and scheduling is easy. We had the opportunity to work with Home Instead in my grandmothers' final days. The owners answered all our questions and made the signup process seamless. Having Alzheimers and being bedridden, she was extremely fragile. The caregiver Home Instead sent was a godsend. She was knowledgeable and skilled at meeting my grandmothers' daily care needs. She showed kindness and patience to both my grandparents who've been together for the past 70 years. Having her in our home was a blessing. This agency provides excellent in-home care for your loved one! My mother had a serious fall and is now in a wheelchair. Home Instead has provided the necessary caretakers to help her stay in her home. They have been incredibly flexible with schedule changes and needs and truly want to help the client in any way possible. Their staff is professional, caring and responsive to their client's needs. The caretakers' help my mother with meals, transportation and physical therapy appointments. This has certain challenges when the client is in a wheelchair. I would recommend them to anyone!

We've been very pleased with the service. We're using Home Instead for more like companionship. We're not using any of the other, like housekeeping, cooking, because we don't need it. This is so that mostly if I have to leave and he's by himself that there's someone here in case he needs assistance. So in that regard, there's no problem whatsoever. It's been over a year now. We thoroughly enjoy, especially the lady that helps us right now. We have not had a bad experience with them.

I am the daughter-in-law of a wonderful woman who has stage 6'ish Alzheimer's. We wanted to have her and my father-in-law move into assisted living near us, but then Covid hit. We needed help for my father-in-law fast since he was becoming exhausted caring for her by himself. I did some research and found Home Instead. OMG!!! They have helped her on so many levels - nutritionally, hygienically, socially, and emotionally. BUT they have provided him with the care she needs so that he can have a day off here and there, saving both of them. We are SO very glad that we found them! The caregivers are wonderful and have treated my mother-in-law with nothing less that complete dignity, respect, and love. It is a vocation to be sure, and we are so thankful for them all.

We contacted Home Instead to see about providing companionship and transportation to help our increasingly isolated mother, who can no longer drive and is drifting from mild to moderate Alzheimer's. We were immediately impressed with the caring professionalism demonstrated by Home Instead. An employee comes 3 days a week for 4 hours a day and takes our mom to walk in the park, to the grocery store, to get a shake at Sonic, and stuff like that. The employee, Carolyn, is extremely kind, attentive, and caring. We couldn't be happier. Our mother's quality of life has improved significantly since Carolyn has been coming, and we are very appreciative of this service. We weren't sure what to expect when we began, but we can safely say that we are thoroughly impressed with Home Instead and we recommend them highly.

The home helper selected for our family is a very sweet woman. She provides compassionate care (most important to us) and is open to various small housekeeping tasks (least important to us). My only criticism of the company policy is that we cannot directly communicate with her, only either through the company or through the messages in our home log. I would definitely recommend this group to a friend!

I am very happy with the services being provided and the level of care given for my mother-in-law. They are providing toileting assistance, meal assistance, light cleaning, reading, conversation, and company. They keep notes throughout the day to assist me in knowing what has occurred during the day. I have not had a problem with coverage during the times I need a caregiver there, and they have been very friendly, on time, and responsive to her needs. I have no complaints at the present time..

The service that is provided is in home care for my elderly parents who are able to live independently because of a Home Instead Companion that helps them 2 days a week. Runs errands, cleans their home, does laundry, occasionally cooks, helps with Dr. appts. and so much more. They have become a good friend and helper!

Home Instead, New Braunfels, provided 24 hour care for my mom for 3 months in her home, as she had cancer and dementia. The Home Instead managers listened to my concerns and was able to meet my mom's physical, social and emotional needs during this time. Even with challenges on the weekends, as staff changed, Home Instead was able to provide consistent staff who came every weekend. I was able to contact them and receive prompt replies with any questions I had. I appreciate their staff and their integrity, as my mom would not have been able to stay in the home she loved without their care. I would recommend Home Instead, New Braunfels to anyone who desires consistent care for their loved one.

Home Instead provided wonderful care for our Mom. They were kind and conscientious and made certain that Mom was comfortable at all times. Home Instead was the one my parents picked, and they’re very comfortable. Right now, they’re not doing a whole lot. They’re only doing the cleaning, but my parents like the idea that they can add more things if they need it. I haven’t heard anything negative said about them. My daughter and I were doing the cleaning for them for quite a few years before they decided that they didn’t want us having to come out there all of the time. Plus, there’s too much cleaning because it’s three floors. I did a search for home help companies, and they’re charging the same thing that we charged, so it’s working out for them really well. I would recommend them, and I’ve heard good things about them from other people, too.

I had the time to help a friend find someone to help his Mother. She did not qualified for assisted living as she had mobility issues, but didn't want to leave her home. Home Instead Senior Care of New Braunfels was the answer he was looking for. They provide the transportation she needs to places she wants to go and help around the house. Her main need there is with meal preparation so she doesn't have to stand to cook.
Home Instead provids the care and support needed to keep her life at home to a norm, yet allow her the flexibility to still participate in things she enjoys.
Thank you Home Instead! You've been a lifesaver for all of us.

My mom would like to thank Home Instead Senior Care of New Braunfels for the tender loving care they showed to her especially her caregiver. We could never have found her a better attendant from home! They gives so much of themselves and more to make my mom feel special and loved. No doubt we found a great in-home care provider.
