I appreciate that Home Instead Caregivers are encouraged to seek continuous training opportunities and be more than just sitters in the home with our senior family members. They show up on time, call if they are running late (which rarely happens), cook for, clean up after, and engage with our parents throughout the day.

I turned to Home Instead for help caring for my elderly Mom after emergency surgery. From the initial call and every interaction in between, they genuinely cared and were helpful beyond words. Caregivers were punctual and oh so full of patience. Right up until my Mom's passing, their help and care made a difficult situation a little less overwhelming, and for that I forever grateful.

Home Instead Senior Care was not our first senior care provider but it was the only one who actually gave us what we asked for. My mother has Lewy Body Dementia and I needed someone to not only give me time to run errands and etc, but also someone who would do whatever it took to engage my mom. Marie did that. I couldn't believe some of the tricks she came up with over time to keep Mom engaged and socially interacting! Providers from other companies would ask Mom what she wanted to do and, when she said "nothing," they would watch TV, read, fool with their cell phones, etc, while Mom sat and stared out the window. Marie never took "nothing" for an answer. On the other hand, on those days when Mom was not feeling well, Marie seemed to realize it and just sat with her. There were also days when Mom got a little mean. Marie always told me about those times but she never let it upset her. I eventually had to move Mom into a memory care unit but Mom still asks about Marie and I will always remember what Marie did for Mom and me. Taking care of Mom by myself was the most difficult thing I've ever done ... I could not have done it without Marie's help. There were a couple of providers other than Marie that came when we needed extra time for some reason. In the limited times that they were with Mom, they seemed to be excellent. Unfortunately, I can't remember their names. I also need to say a word about the office staff. I didn't call often but when I did, they always knew me, were cheerful, and went out of their way to take care of things. The entire experience with Home Instead Senior Care was wonderful, especially coming, as it did, during a very difficult time.

The confidence they give to the ones they are taking care of that they will be safe.
