About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

Our care giver is a professional who helps with light cooking and cleaning for my mom. She is reliable and when she can’t be here the company will make provisions for the coverage. I have used the service for several years now and make recommendations to friends, frequently.

The server for "Home Instead" is very punctual and her service is outstanding.
She is very attentive to all our needs and requires very little supervision in taking care of us.

They staff arrive on time.
I have given them guidelines which they adhere to.
Home Instead have been extremely helpful with my requests needing to change if I have to go to my doctor. The person may come in an hour before I need to go to my doctor's office. I call Home Instead's office to request a schedule change and relay the info to the caregiver.

I use for transportation and support to doctors and medical appointments when family is unable to take me. They are always on time and supported. I have gotten along well with each one that has come out.
Only thing I would like to have done is a call confirming they have a specific person scheduled so I don’t feel anxious. I usually call day before myself to confirm so in case I need to cancel my appointment. They’ve always had someone scheduled so that’s good.

My elderly mother has been a client for HomeInstead day services for one year. Her caregiver assists with meal prep, showers, exercises, & companionship—which allows me time to run errands and other activities. Since mid-Oct, HomeInstead has provided overnight care to allow me to get more sleep since my mother has been diagnosed with dementia. They are always on time, always positive attitude, and attentive and gentle with my mother. She’s always happy to see them.

I have been with this company for over a year now, and the service that I have received has been very good, they have helped me out with all my needs and I will continue to use this company and I recommend this company to anyone that need assistance please give them a chance and I think you would enjoy this company.The caregivers that I have had had been great with me and gave me their best.This is the best company to have.

We needed help withe the daily tasks for my Uncle. He is 88 and has had a few health issues in the last 2 months. He has no children so when I contacted Cara D. she was so helpful in helping us meet his needs. His caregiver was always on time and willing to help him for the 4 hours she was their in the mornings. My uncle has gotten stronger, healthier, and independent in the last two weeks and no longer requires their supervised help. Should we need their assistance again this is the company we will contact.

Immediately upon finding Home Instead I felt like I had a partner. They quickly gained my trust based on the efficiencies, excellent communication skills and true passion for taking care / helping my loved one. They went beyond what I expected and having them help me navigate through this part of my moms life lifted a big weight off my chest and let me to find joy. Knowing my mom was in such great hands gave me relief to be able to enjoy other parts of my life alongside checking in on her. I highly recommend the service

We are currently a client and have been very thankful and pleased with our services. Everyone has been easy to reach and accomodating as we are in and out of the hospital lately with my grandmother and our caregiver is meeting us where we are. We are glad we chose Home Instead and the care we are getting.

I wish I would have chosen Home Instead years ago! My father suffers from Alzheimer's disease and has declined tremendously over the past two years. Recently after a bout of pancreatitis my family made the difficult decision to consider long term care. We quickly realized that the cost of long-term care would quickly liquidate any assets my dad had worked hard to save for his entire life. Instead we looked into couple's care for my mom and dad which has allowed them to stay in their home and be independent while still having their basic needs taken care of in a more humane and caring way. They absolutely love their caregiver and look forward to her care and company. I am happy to say that just with care and attention my dad's overall health and mobility have greatly improved. In addition, the company itself is responsive and accommodating to all our needs. There have been times when we've needed more care and it is quickly scheduled and someone is always there to answer my questions. I will be forever grateful for Home Instead for allowing my parents to grow old gracefully! Thanks, Home Instead!

My mother's caregiver was not only of great help to my mom, but a help to me. She took my mom out and did he laundry so that my time with her wasn't spent doing laundry and running errands. My mom enjoyed the companionship and her caregiver was very kind, conscientious and dependable. The office staff was helpful and communicative.

I really like our care provider. She takes great care of my mother and is very nice. My mother looks forward to seeing her. She bathes her, cleans her room and bathroom, keeps her bed linens clean and launders her clothes. She does an excellent job!

This company is excellent and has been great to work with. They listen to customer feedback and make sure all issues are taken care of. They do try to find a good caregiver who will fit well with the patient/person they are taking care of. We have an excellent aid who goes out of there way to make sure everything is taken care of and there is nothing overlooked! I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing assistance with a loved one.

Home Instead is really good about providing the support that we need and I've been using them pretty much since my mom first had her stroke. They make sure that they get people here on time and they are pretty good at mitigating any issues or concerns. They have a pretty decent quality of nursing and the caregivers that we've been engaged with have been compassionate, understanding, and patient. One of them in particular, Cindy, would even do some activities with my mom, which she did all on her own. Those little things make a big difference. They make sure to match the caregiver with the patient. It's kind of what I find best. Their desire to make sure that they have the right caregiver there is why I go back to them. They are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.

My wife and I are very fortunate we found some people from Home Instead Senior Care. She's very cordial. She's a very good cook, and she keeps on doing extra things for us.
