About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

Their caregivers are very dependable and always on time. They take really good care of my 91 year old mom with Alzheimer's. They prepare her breakfast and lunch, wash the linens on her bed, wash, dry and fold her clothes and towels. Make sure she stays hydrated and exercises. We highly recommend Home Instead!!❤

My husband has dementia. George knows how to work with him and get him to do things that he needs to do. He's just very helpful and I'm very satisfied. He helps me, too. He brings me my groceries, which I really appreciate. Everything's fine. I'm very satisfied with all of it. I think they do a very good job. I'm very satisfied with the person they sent to work with my husband. I would recommend them.

Home Instead have been furnishing people for me. First it was 5 days a week for $2,600 a month, and that was too high. So I had to cut the girl back; after two years I cut her back. I waited 6 months to do it because I had a feeling she wouldn't like that. She had a choice of losing two days, going from 6 to 4, and just let me be on the other 2 days function myself.
I had somebody else taking me to church on Sundays. The caregivers were very friendly and very nice. Some of them like to just sit around. I take compression therapy. When I'm under the compression therapy, I'm literally tied down to the bed, and I can't get up and walk around to see if they're doing what I ask them to do.
On Saturday or Sunday, if I don't have my regular girl here to take me to church there's a problem because a lot of these women don't work weekends. They don't take Medicare or Medicaid. It's right out of your pocket. There are days that I can't get somebody to serve me because they're not available on that particular day, or a lot of the girls don't want to mess with my compression therapy.

We've been using Home Instead for almost 2 years now. We've had several, but they're about the best I've used so far. Everything's fine. They help my mom with washing dishes, fix a meal sometimes, make up the bed, and clean the bathrooms. Mom is pretty comfortable with the caregivers. The caregivers are the same ones we had before, so I don't have any problems with them.

Home Instead has been good. They've helped me a lot. I'm by myself and I don't have anybody else. If it wasn't for them I'd be in big trouble. They've been really good and I appreciate their service. I've been working with them probably for six months now. They help keep the house clean, cook some meals for me if I want them to, and just do whatever needs to be done. They've done a good job.

We like Lorice as a caregiver because she cares about us. Furthermore, we believe she's always concerned about making our day a good day. We've also had tasty meals and that's one of the things that are important to us.

Home Instead Senior Care, Duncaville TX has provided in home care for me since late May. It began as 24/7 caregivers and is now four hours per day five days a week since I have gotten better. All of the caregivers were very professional and seemed to be best suited to my needs as I improved. Far exceeded my expectations.

I think the world of my mom's caregiver April. She takes care of all my mom's needs during the day so I don't have to worry about mom while I'm at work. April is hardworking and always aims to please. She has a great attitude and is so loving to my mom. April even nurses my mother's sick dog. Mom and I are very grateful.

My caregiver Reyna always has smile on her face and a 'can do' attitude. Always knows what's needed- I don't need to ask her- She's very punctual, very neat, clean and helpful. Very interesting and entertaining to talk to. Very experienced in what she does.
