We hired Visiting Angels for mom. They're prompt. They do what the family asks. For the most part, they're very thorough. They help with bathing, fixing her simple meals, companionship, dressing, laundry, and dishes. I like that if you need to cancel, as long as you give them two or three days' notice, you do not get billed for that day.

I want to tell people what I wish someone would have told me before Hiring them DO NOT USE THEM! They are terrible, they would show up hours late for their scheduled times, or sometimes not at all. They did not even have enough respect to call and say they would be late. The caregivers are untrained, by their own admission. One care giver said she had never done this kind of work and took the job, because she didn’t have to attend training and needed a paycheck that week. I even caught one of the caregivers going through my shop and our China. When I called I was given all kind of reasons why my service could not be discontinued, none of which were true, and that we should give them another chance to make things right. I gave them another chance and nothing changed. Also when billed I was billed for the full amount of hours if the caregiver was there the full time or if they left early, so watch your bill. I may need help physically getting around but there are no problems with my mind, I was taken advantage of, the people in the office were aware of it and did nothing to correct the problem. In short the care is terrible, the caregivers are terrible, the office staff is unfriendly and uncaring, and $30 an hour for that kind of treatment is taking advantage of the elderly and they should be ashamed! Do not be another one of their victims, there are better companies out there, wish I would have known.

We are currently using Visiting Angels for my mom. The caregivers are very helpful. She has them scheduled not at the same time each day, so they have different people come on one day versus another. So far there has not been a problem. My mother likes them. Everybody seems professional and kind.

I have heard about Visiting Angels, and their price for a 24-hour requirement was more economical than others. So far we have had a couple of people, and for the most part they have been really good, and we are pleased. They are just able to take care of my dad; they are strong enough to handle him.
