About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

We depend on them for getting to medical appointments and errands. My husband uses a wheelchair and neither of would want to drive very far. We can trust their caregivers to drive our car.

Bringing my mother home was only made possible by Home In Stead. My mother needs 24/7 care. Home In Stead picked out 2 amazing Caregivers. Alice and Linda are true God sends!! My mother is bed ridden and is hopefully going to be able to gain her strength back to walking again, but Alice and Linda give great care!! They dress, bathe, feed, cook, and makes sure all mother’s needs are met. My mother has the best care I could ever ask for, and Alice and Linda feel like part of our family and they treat mom with such love and care. I highly recommend Home In Stead! I am truly grateful!! Thank you Home In Stead and Thank you Alice and Linda for your continued care you give to mother.

Good service, good caregivers. We needed someone to come in for non-standard hours and they took care of us. They send new people until we found someone we really liked and when we let them know they have stuck with him for our schedule.

We are extreamly happy with Home Instead! We have had many other caregiving companies over the years & no one can compare to the excellence that Home Instead provides! They provide excellent services. My husband requires bathing, dressing, & other help. We are very comfortable with the caregivers. They look out for his specific needs, make him feel comfortable & like family. They care for my husband as if he was a family member. Tipacly on time. If a caregiver is unable to come, they guarantee a replacement in an hour. Do to human imperfection, if a problem does arise- the office takes care of it right away. I wouldn't have anyone else taking care of my husband or myself when the time comes. Please, do yourself & your family a favor. Go with Home Instead, you won't regret it!

I needed a Home care for my wife. Even though I am able to take care of her, she cannot be left alone. The trusted care given allows me to be away from home completing other necessary tasks.
Home Instead has worked with me and has been able to adjust their schedule to meet my needs.

This agency provide me a cargiver who helps me with household work, grocery shopping, and personal care. She arrives on time and is very kind and caring with the things I need and my health. The agency is good about making any changes that may be necessary for my convenience, however, this is rarely needed.

I had a great experience using this service. I am new to my town and had to have a medical procedure that required someone wait in the waiting room. I didn't know anyone in this town, so I called Home Instead to ask if they provided such a service. They did! I'm not a senior, nor am I in need of home care, I just needed a ride and for this person to stay there while the procedure was done, then drive me home. They came to my house in advance to ask some questions, which I appreciated, and then scheduled a very nice person to drive me. I would recommend Home Instead to anyone, they were very nice and helpful.

The best thing I like about this agency is we know who's in charge. We've had other agencies that always gave second-hand answers, but with Home Instead we know the exact person to call if we have a problem. And we know she'll make things right.

We’ve used Home Instead for a couple months now for short visits and long stays while my family was out of town. My mom loves the people that come over to help her with - laundry, cooking, and cleaning.
While we are out of town I never have to worry about someone not being with or looking after my parents.

I am a current client of home instead my caregiver is very sweet and gives her all to see that I am safe. I have a dog that she also show attention to. We have a great time together, we laugh all the time. We love to go out to eat. She notices something that the other caregivers seem to overlook. She brings me cookies, treats me like one of her family members.

Our family has been extremely pleased with the in-home care provided to our mother by this service. The sitter makes sure our mother bathes, eats, and takes her meds on schedule. She sometimes runs errands and drives her to appointments. She also contacts us when she notices something out of the ordinary with our mother's condition. Her sitter is punctual, kind, and provides wonderful care to our mother. Whenever we've called the agency, they've been responsive to assist. It took a short adjustment period initially to find the right sitter, but the agency worked to find the right match. We now have peace of mind knowing our mother is being well cared for during the day at home.

My father and I are very pleased with the service. In the beginning they got specific information to help match workers up with my father's personality and needs, we are both pleased with the sitters they matched up with him. It puts me at ease going to work knowing someone is there to meet my father's needs. And, they do more than I ever expected.

Home Instead has the most professional and caring staff. I have care 7 days a week and the extra care each of the caregivers give is amazing. The staff is friendly, flexable and easy to work with. I am very satisfied with the care we get.

I HAVE HAD AND STILL DO HAVE CAREGIVERS FROM THIS AGENCY AT MY APT. TWICE A WEEK. SOME ARE NOT VERY ENERGETIC NOR DO CHORES GOOD THEN THERE ARE SOME GOOD ONES. I PERSONALLY LET TWO ON THE SPOT AT MY APT. ONE WAS TRYING TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO, IT WAS PART OF HER JOB TO PUT THE GROGERIES AWAY, NOT ME. THERE ARE SOME GOOD AND BAD ONES OUT THERE ALL OVER ,I WISH I COULD DO IT ALL AS I USED TOO.
