About This Community
Right at Home provides personalized in-home care and support for seniors and adults with disabilities. Our caregivers are trained to help with everyday tasks that have become challenging. This may include meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, personal hygiene, medication reminders, mobility assistance, transportation and other tasks. We offer services for those with special care situations such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson’s disease and other dementias; diabetes; stroke recovery; and hospice care. Custom Care Plan
We know everyone’s needs are different, so we create custom, client-centered care plans based on our unique five-step approach to care. We take time to get to know you by discussing your health history, physical and cognitive abilities, daily routines, and personal lifestyle and preferences. This conversation is important to us because we want to help you determine the level and types of care you need and match you with the best caregiver to help you continue to live successfully at home, or wherever you call home.
Caregiver Training and Care Supervision
When you choose Right at Home, you can rest assured that our caregivers will deliver the care you or your loved one needs. Every caregiver goes through an extensive interview process, including background checks. We provide initial caregiver training through our Right at Home University before they can provide care, and we provide ongoing training to support best care practices. All of our caregivers are employed by Right at Home and are bonded and insured.

When we first started we didn't have anybody for 6 weeks and when I found out we didn't have service we called and they said it was being worked on. They submitted it and the next day we had someone here to help. It was that quick.
I've already recommended them and handed out cards. They were really impressed with how well our services were.

There are people working in the organization that I have become really good friends with.
What I like about them is their communication. We are always in contact with somebody. If I do have a need or problem, I can get a hold of somebody.

I required outpatient surgery shortly after moving to Sioux Falls. Without family in the area and not knowing anyone, I reached out to Right at Home for someone to stay with me the night after surgery. Getting started with them was simple. I was so grateful for Judy's presence that first night. It was a rough night but she was so calm, kind, checked on me without hovering on being intrusive; encouraged me. So thankful for her!

They pamper him, which is something that I don't have time to do.
They've got this one person that my husband can use. We don't have to substitute someone in all the time. He's able to stay with one person.

They've been very helpful. My husband had passed away, and we hadn't lived here very long. I hadn't had the chance to make a lot of friends, so I really appreciated making some friendships with the girls that come.
I think that the people they have sent out are very caring. They always come on time.

It's pretty good having someone help me with the shower because I have a port and it has to be covered.
I did recommend them a couple weeks ago and I told them what kind of services I get and what they do. They are always there for you.

It's hard to get used to people coming in and doing things for me. They vacuum, clean the kitchen and the bathroom.

When they come out, they pretty much keep me informed to how I am doing, whether I know it or not. If there is a significant change in my general health, they are able to tell me who to contact. The general impact on my health has been very good.
I like everything about their services. Everybody that has come out here from them has been skilled, and they know what they are doing.

I haven't had her do the clothes washing, but I know I'm going to have to.
I am old, and my way of doing things is different then how they do them. It is nice to have them come, but they could clean things more gently, instead of digging into them.

It's great, and I can get used to the caegivers that come. I don't have to worry when I go to work about my brother because they're here with him all day. It's nice to come home and not have a bunch of dishes after work. I know he's being taken care of.

My wife isn't able to get into the bathtub. For me, I can concentrate more on food preparation and getting supper or breakfast ready. I like that.
What I've enjoyed is their staff. They're very knowledgeable, and they're very concerned about the person they're working with. My wife really likes them.

I'm really glad that someone is available because I have a lot of falls. They are familiar with my animals and with me. They come in and talk to the animals and they talk to me. They hook up the EKG right away and they make things more homey. They make me feel like I'm a part of them.
If I need help, they stay on the phone with me until help arrives. They call me back to see how the treatment went.

They are reliable and caring. My mother had become sick and so I needed some additional help and they were able to provide that for me. It has eased my mind because they actually do early night care and they take care of her and is ready for bed when the caregivers leave.

They look like they had training but most of the caregivers took a nap. They helped, a lot of times he didn't know someone was here because he had dementia and Parkinson's.

The caregiver I have is on time and does everything that needs to be done in the allotted amount of time I am given. They have helped me in many ways, not only with the housework. I had a stroke and she was helpful with that, she knew something was wrong for me.

They do not throw away my things. When I first started, people would throw away new rugs that I had bought and they no longer do that anymore. I sometimes do the dishes and put my clothes away in a certain way, but if I do get behind in my laundry they help me with that.
