We have someone with Senior Helpers of Hilton Head to care for my mom. We are overjoyed, first of all, to have the help. The caregiver, Hilda, just has a great personality that when she walked in, it was very comforting. I feel the warmth when she's here and she's just a blessing to us. She's very attentive to my mom and even though I still want to go after her and help, she'll jump right in and take over. I had to learn to back off and it felt good to do that. It's exactly what we needed in our life right now with my mom. I haven't had any issues with billing and scheduling. We're new to it but we haven't had an issue at all. We have a schedule every day throughout the week, we have a time set, and Hilda is always here on time so I never have to worry about that. That's been a plus because it just means a lot to know that they're going to be there right when you need them or expect them. Hilda does just the basic stuff like going into the bathroom and the usual sitting part, being someone there to sit with my mom and keep her company. She has Alzheimer's so it means a lot for us to have the same person every day. She already knows Hilda and she knows she's going to be here. There's a chair where they sit right beside each other and they talk together. They immediately hit it off so I didn't have any issues.

I highly recommend Senior Helpers of the Low Country and would give them 10 stars if that were an option. The owners of Senior Helpers, Scott and Christine, went above and beyond the call of duty not only to provide my father with a companion who matched his personality and needs perfectly while he was a resident in a local memory care unit; but even more importantly, they also ensured his (and my) needs were met after he suffered a stroke and ultimately needed end of life care. The caregivers they employed were compassionate, competent, respectful, and were always on time and willing and able to give 100 percent of themselves in often difficult circumstances as my father's needs were quite challenging between his dementia and stroke related issues. Scott and Christine are excellent service providers and truly good people who I would without hesitation recommend to anyone in need of help caring for a loved one.
