The caregivers are very dedicated to their clients. They arrive on time, and stay their full alloted time. If there is something that needs done, just ask them to do it for you. I have not met a worker yet that has refused to help.

I recommend Home Instead to everyone who asks about home care. I am retired RN and I was grateful to find and agency who actually cared the their clients and families. There was never a time when I felt like we weren't important to everyone involved with Moms care. I know that Bella and Rebecca went above and beyond to make sure my Mom was well cared for even when I made last minute requests Bella always assured me that it was "no problem and we will take care of it and make it work". I will miss them-Mom always referred to Rebecca as her daughter.

I learned about Home Instead Senior Care through a caregiver's presentation made by Katie of Home Instead. We were in the process of making decisions for my dad (mid to late stages of Alzheimers). At that point, we had decided that we would move in with my parents and help with care that way. As much as I tried, I just couldn't keep up with his wandering during the night and it was also taking it's toll on my mother. I called Gail at Home Instead and explained where we were in the journey. I told her about my dad and our needs. Within a few days we had several caregivers in place for nights. We began with a few nights a week and then began to have someone every night. If there was ever a caregiver that was not a good "fit" for my dad, Gail was quick to make the adjustment. Together we created a team of 3-4 caregivers that covered 7 nights a week. If there was ever any special instructions to pass on to the caregivers all I had to do was email Gail and the instructions were passed on to the caregivers. Communication was amazing. Eventually we needed more help during the day hours and within a few days Gail & Bella were able to fill the slots again making sure that the caregiver was a good "fit" for my dad. During all of this, Gail was super helpful in guiding me and submitting paperwork to the long term care insurance provider that my dad had (and I know from experience with them that was quite a task for her). In the beginning of April, we decided that it was time for the next step which was a full time memory care unit in our home town. Katie and all of the staff were very helpful and encouraging as we made this transition. We would not have been able to keep my dad at home for that time if it wouldn't have been for the great staff at Home Instead. I would recommend Home Instead Senior Care of Gettysburg to anyone in need of great in home care..
