If I could, I would give them a 1/2 star. My mom was with Bright Star for about 2 months. She did have some care givers that were real nice and helped her with her exercises, did what she asked and were friendly and helpful. They also sent new girls all of the time so she had no idea what stranger was coming to her house day after day. However, most of the help she had were young girls that were still going to school (nothing wrong with that) but had absolutely no experience with home care. Didn't know how to clean, cook, make a bed or do laundry. They didn't drive, so they had to take a bus and were always late or simply didn't show up. Because they didn't drive they could not get her groceries or take her for any appointments, which they said they would do for her. They were young and ALWAYS had their phone in their hands. They sat, fell asleep, played on their phones, did not finish their duties. Would wash dishes but wouldn't dry them and put them away. They would ask mom for food or drink. Many times mom shared her dinner (frozen dinners that my sister and I had prepared) with them because they were hungry. I would NOT recommend this company for home care. So many times I would call my mom and she would be crying because she was so upset with her help or should I say non-help. My opinion is if they paid more they could get professional help that know how to do their job, not a bunch of kids who really don't care or have any idea what they are doing. The 1/2 star is for the good ones. Thankfully she had a couple of them.

I have been with them since last December, and I have had 7 different girls. That's a lot of girls. Some of them don't have transportation. I like their friendliness.

When we first started care, they sent caregivers to my loved one's home that were not healthy. That put my loved one at risk. This current caregiver doesn't go above and beyond to clean up messes. I also think the training process was not good for them because I would think it would tell them what basic things to do like that. I'm working with them. The two hours has taken away my stress at work of worrying about them because I know that someone is sitting with them.

BrightStar Care can have a greater impact on my life if their caregivers would show up. I am supposed to get out of my chair at 7 but I would be stuck in it until 10 am. My original great caregivers either had car problems or had different jobs and so their replacements just didn't cut it.

I didn't have any problems with BrightStar Care. I had been with them for a long time, and I would recommend them if I lived in Pennsylvania. I couldn't go up and down the stairs in the basement, and my caregivers took me shopping and to errands.
