About two months ago I contacted Senior Helpers to make arrangements for a person to come to my home to help look after my wife, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease. Following a 20 minute interview on the phone, I was visited by a case coordinator my area, who spent about an hour at my house with me and my wife, doing a thorough evaluation of our needs. At the end of that visit I was told that the next step would be to find a caregiver to match our needs, something that would happen within just a few days, and that I should expect a call back from Senior Helpers very soon. After about a week with no further contact, I called again for an update and was told that the case coordinator would call me back right away. Several more days passed and I called again, again with the same result: no further contact. Now that two months have passed, I am still waiting for that call back, which has been promised to me repeatedly.
I don’t know why Senior Helpers has behaved toward me in this way. Maybe they were simply unable to find someone to provide the services I needed on the days and times I needed them, but that still does not explain why they didn’t just tell me that rather than continuing to make me believe that they were both ready and able to fill my request without any further wait.
I am not the sort of person that goes out of my way to criticize others on the Web, but the way Senior Helpers has treated me at a time when I was, and continue to be, desperate for help is so outrageous that I feel it is my duty to warn anyone who is thinking of turning to them for help. These are not honorable people. They think nothing of ignoring their customers. They are not reliable. They are not trustworthy. Be very careful, and good luck!

They did not follow instructions given and never showed up when they were supposed to. Very very disappointed especially when they emphasize the quality of work and care. On one event the Senior Helpers hung out in my parent's room because he wanted to use up the three hours we paid them for. My parents were quite uncomfortable. Very sad.

They are very local to my mother. My mother met one of the women from Senior Helpers, and it was an easy connection. When we went to the next step, everything went smoothly. The agency is very responsive, and they return my calls quickly. We like the people because they are very professional, with positive attitudes, and flexible in accommodating my mother’s needs. I would definitely recommend them. The only thing was how their invoicing wasn’t clear to me, but they worked that out fine.

I used Senior Helpers for two weeks. Their office was very close to my house. My husband had a big fall, so he could not walk and his balance was not good. I was looking for in-home care quickly and one of the neighbors had recommended them. They were good.

To the staff and caregivers of Senior Helpers,
Thank you for providing our family with caring, competent, women during Mom's final week. We were able to rest easily knowing that she was in good hands.

My husband Frank enjoyed his caregiver Tim's company very much, considered him his friend and would look forward to his visits. Thank you Senior Helpers for sending Tim as well as your services and support staff. I want Senior Helpers to know how appreciative I was to have Tim taking care of my husband Frank who suffered from Alzheimer's for the past two years.

My Dad has had a difficult time since my Mom died. He wanted his independence but could no longer stay home alone. I was referred to Senior Helpers by a friend who's mother was also be cared for by Senior Helpers. My Dad has now had care by Senior Helpers and it has been a wonderful experience. He looks forward to their visits. He is always well groomed and well fed. His house is always clean and I am no longer frazzled and short when I visit my Dad. My visits are no longer a chores to be done, they are delightful visits. Thank you Senior Helpers for being there when I need you.

I have only had great experiences with Senior Helpers. The caregivers are wonderful to my mother and care for all her needs. I am raising children and have a full time job. My experience has been fantastic. The office staff is always availble and management is accessible. I would highly recommend this agency.

I was not happy at all with our experience with Senior Helpers. For one thing, I had different person coming out each time. One of the women weren't very honest. She said she would call me back and let me know who's coming and she didn't. She wasn't always reliable and changed the story about some things. I was going to address the issue to the management but the person that I should have talked to was on a week meetings. She's gone for the week and it just got so bad that we all decided that it would be better to go on our way. I think that a provider should know that a person is a really certified home health aid. Know who's coming out. They need to be trained when they're coming out. They need to be given a care plan so they would know what to do when they're coming.
