The regular caregiver does everything we need her to. She does meal preparation and bathing and light housekeeping. She attends to the laundry and makes sure that she gets her medication.
There seems to be an attendance issues. I think that everyone is having that issue.

The caregiver was able to get delegated for the client's feeding tube. That has been really nice that she knows everything she has to do with the feeding tube for feeding him, giving him his medicines, flushing him out with water, or even giving him his feeding tube when the time arises because it gets changed out every so often. That is very nice.
We have gone through a few caregivers but the current one we have is exceptional. She works really well with my son and is very proactive by doing everything that he is interested in. She is able to keep him really engaged. She doesn't take any time off and that shows how much she cares. That is really nice and refreshing.

His basic needs are taken care of.
They aren't communicating with the caregivers. The caregivers aren't trained well enough. They send the caregivers in blind.

The stability of knowing someone is going to show, it makes it a lot less stressful for the client.
I like that they actually keep in contact with the clients. Their communication skills are better than anything I've seen.

I like the personality of my caregiver.
It would be nice to know that someone is coming in regularly. There isn't usually anyone available on Mondays. That is difficult to deal with. I have to get meals to my disabled daughter on Mondays.

They can be more questioning on things, I always tell them to ask if they have any questions and they need to actually care about the client's needs than the hours.
It differs with anyone's case and with my mother she didn't get the care that she needed for her health and in the flow of things it was more work on me than what we wanted and the caregivers weren't as experienced.

When we have our consistent caregiver the services are great. When it's different people it's less. New Horizons has helped us the most with having somebody come in and be kind. My loved one has a lot of quirks.
I would like to see New Horizons improve on the consistency of the caregivers and electronic schedules. Some of the communication is not always great. We love our caregiver and she is outstanding. They have had some problems keeping people. We get it. The electronic scheduling would be outstanding.

They was one caregiver was very good and I wish I could have had people like her within the 6 weeks that I was cared for.
They provide a great service, but I would like to see improved is the staffing. However it is difficult to get people consistently during the pandemic.

She has gotten to the point where she has a hard time taking care of herself, and this allows me to continue to work and do what I need to do. It would be a lot harder without her.

My mother uses New Horizons for her care needs. I am astounded by the service provided to me. We have a large selection of caregivers to chose from and we feel like issues are resolved quickly. I would highly suggest this service

I requested U have 1 permanent caregiver from the start. It was chaotic with many new worker showing up. I was promised repeatedly U would at the least have 2 permanent workers. I finally asked to cancel Wedensdays because they didn't have a permanent one for that day... They continued to send people for that day only to be sent back. I was having serious anxiety issues over new people showing up. I would not recommend them.
