We've got people from Home Instead Senior Care - West Portland & Lake Oswego coming in six days a week to help her. They clean her up and make her bed and maybe make a meal. They come for four hours a day to help her dress and activities of daily living. I've been pleased with all of the caregivers, they're very kind and attentive. They go out of their way and my mom likes them a lot. The service is so much better than the last agency we used. We've had them for a couple of months now and they've been on top of things. They deliver appropriately, so I've been happy with all of that.

Home Instead stepped up to help us on very short notice with my 98 year old mother and 71 year old brother living together in Portland to fill in for one of our two regular care givers who had emergency surgery leaving us without coverage for their 1/2 day weekend shift. Both have dementia, the son has incontinence and we live in California. Given only 4 days to set it up, Home Instead was responsive to arrange for an in-home interview, assess their needs, complete the paper work and schedule someone to prepare meals, change laundry and dispense multiple meds. At first it was to be only for two week end shifts, but on Wednesday before July 4 - the our regular care giver was still unavailable. So, on short notice, Home Instead got us help. It had to be a different person, but just as before, Home Instead sent Jessica the Care Coordinator to introduce the caregiver and show him the ropes. The quality of care was very good. The care givers were friendly and helpful. We rested easy knowing the "Emergency" was taken care of. Although we are out of state, the process was easy and supported by excellent and helpful communication. Access to Home Instead's online Family Member portal to see and review schedules and other details was a plus.

Very unreliable. Fell asleep 2 of 3 nights and did not hear father get up, could have been real bad. Cancelled service. Do not recommend.

Fantastic caregivers and excellent communication. The care manager met with me and my mom. Anytime I call I can ask for her and she answers my questions. She even comes and sees my mom every few weeks to see how she's doing and then follows up with me if there is something that mom needs. I feel they are ethical and are transparent with how they work with me and my mom.

The caregiver at Home Instead is a wonderful match for husband. He enjoys her a great deal. She is very helpful and kind of looky, and that works for my husband. She goes to the school as she wants to be a nurse, so sometimes the scheduling is a little bit challenging. The owner and staff have been exceptional; they have been accommodating and very open to what I need.
