It allowed me and my husband to both leave to go and do things. She would sit with her and watch TV with her. They showered her and got her dressed.

Our experience with Visiting Angels Albany has been really good. They're thorough, and compared to other agencies they're affordable. With other places, they just come and stay for three hours a day, which was the minimum number of hours. They do pretty much anything for my mom, like making sure she's fed, medicated, dressed, and bathed. They also do household tours and feed the cat, that kind of thing. I would recommend them to others. They match personalities with the person. A nurse came over and asked what kind of personality would you like in the house, like would you like somebody who's quiet or somebody who's chatty. We get the same person every time, they don't switch people out, so it's all pretty good.

They were always checking on things making sure we were happy and making sure mom was getting everything she was paying for.
They were very caring, and when the caregiver was here, she was very attentive to my mother by talking to her and visiting with her.

The only thing that I do not like is that the caregiver can only drive my loved one in my car. I like that they bill my insurance directly, and they are very diligent at making sure I am happy with our caregiver.

It was something new for us. A couple of the caregivers didn't really know what to do. They could have been a little bit more assertive in helping. They helped with Jim, but they could have done things around the house because they just sat.
We had one gentleman that we just kept calling back because he related to my husband was able to help. He was more experienced than some of the others.

I already have recommended them to several people. I like the people that have come to work with my husband so far. They're knowledgeable, caring, and punctual. The agency is good about finding someone else to come in if scheduling doesn't work out so we're not stranded.

She is assisting my loved one, but she is also helping me be able to get things done. She likes him very much. She helps me get things organized. We work on one area a week. She always remembers where we are in the process. She comes once a week for three hours. She helps out very much.
They do monitor their services. When they interviewed us to find out what we needed I said I needed someone very calm and they got me that person.

They allowed her to stay in her own home until she healed up. They could have been a little more useful around the house by cleaning floors and stuff like that that she couldn't do. One would go above and beyond, though.
There was quite a bit of difference between the care providers. There were several, some were particularly helpful and some weren't.

They did what they were supposed to do, but my mom was very obstinate. I think if my mom was being nice it was an excellent impact, but she was the one that was holding the reins. Without her involvement, they were great.
I was impressed, but we didn't have them for very long. When we went in to interview them, I really was impressed with them.

The reason we needed someone was that I had emergency surgery and my husband is disabled and I wasn't able to take care of him. Our male caregiver has been amazing. He showers and takes care of my husband and helps me with anything that I need help with while I'm recovering.
With both experiences that we've had, the people have been outstanding and I would in a minute recommend them or use them again.

She was very good and very nice. She took care of everything,. She would monitor my mom's pills, clean the house, and cook.
They were very nice and when I called and requested, the owner came right to my house and they had someone come the next day.
