About This Community
Hospice is a type and philosophy of care that focuses on the palliation of a terminally ill person's pain and symptoms, while attending to their emotional and spiritual needs. It is an integrated program of medical and psychosocial care, insuring that the final stages of life are lived with the greatest degree of comfort and dignity.
Partnering with hospitals, nursing homes and community based organizations, Interim meets the specific needs of terminally ill individuals and their families. Interim provides care most frequently in patients' homes however, care can also be provided in independent and assisted living residences.
Hospice services from Interim are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurances and include:
- Pre-Admission Consultation
- Nursing Care
- Pain and Symptom Management
- Pharmacy Consultation/Services
- Medical Equipment and Supplies
- Education and Training of families and caregivers
- An Interdisciplinary team of hospice aides, physicians, social workers, spiritual care counselors and volunteers
- Bereavement care for families and caregivers

Yolanda is a wonderful nurse who makes my tube change less stressful than in the past.My blood pressure no longer soars when she is on the case.Very friendly and efficient.

They are always available and great communicators. Nurse Sali K. has gone over and above for our clients. Before hours and after hours she has handled situations that need immediate attention and has always kept us informed along the way. Follow through is important and we have been very happy with the way Sali has always seen the situations to the end. She has called doctors after hours to get prescriptions for our clients and has scheduled nurses when we needed the extra eyes and care. She’s is a very knowledgeable RN. I would recommend Interim Home Health and Nurse Sali K. to all my clients.

Nurse was average. Social worker was very poor, in fact, bad. Chaplain was great. Care is subpar. Medication prescribed is practically non-existent as to what I need to feel relief and comfort. No equipment. Diagnosis is incomplete. Require liquid nutrition, only 25% a month is provided. In home hospice is giving me great reason to drop Medicare completely and to just quietly die. Unsatisfied, angry, frustrated.

i didnt know the services were so valuable. like that staff is up beat and happy. impressed with mission statement. i feel that they are really working hard to keep me out of the hospital and receive the best care. i would like to thank edna, christine, cheyenne, debra, and dianna for all their help and care.

She is very patient with a retired hardheaded RN. It is getting easier for me with each visit. I am able to suggest treatment options that I learn about and she gives back good information on it and whether I should pursue it. Thanks to Lisa.

Interim dropped my son as a patient with no notice on the day I arrived in New Orleans to have a double mastectomy. So with no family in town to change his wound bandages and no home health, I don’t know what we are going to do. Thanks Interim, way to go in giving more stress to you ex patient and myself!

Interim has been fantastic and wonderful to deal with, so I will recommend them. They respond immediately, are very cooperative and helpful, and recheck my mother’s insurance to make sure it is covered. They all seem to care about what they do and the people they see. They have been very good with my mother, which isn’t easy. So, I have been very happy.
