About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

The care-givers were compassionate, reliable, and very effective in allowing my mother to live at home longer than she would have been otherwise able to.

We have employed Home Instead for roughly 10 weeks. In this time period we have had three caregivers. The first had been burned out after doing this work for over 30 years. We had to let her go after she ignored my request to stop and hurt me ,but didn't acknowledge my pain until my wife responded.
We had to wait a week and then we received a caregiver that quit after three days because my illness triggered her memories of a deceased relative who died from the same disease. We waited another week and received our third caregiver, who was wonderful. But during the third week Home Instead called to inform us that we needed to change our set schedule to accommodate them picking up new clients. When we spoke with the supervisor Vicki, she informed us that they can change our scheduled help whenever they wanted. When my wife explained she had appointments during the time they were going to remove help, Vicki demanded to know what kind of appointments they were, which was extremely unprofessional.
It takes at least a week to train each caregiver. Between the three weeks of that, two weeks waiting for help, and now being treated as disposable by their administration, I highly recommend you avoid them.

We have contracted with Home Instead for 24/7 care for several months and are satisfied with the level of care of our 90 yr. old mother... most of the caregivers have been wonderful and extremely caring... and even though not all caregivers have been a 'good fit', management has always listened to our concerns and made changes/adjustments as best possible. Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Home Instead to any one needing dedicated, proficient and professional care for a loved one.

Home Instead has been a wonderful part of our family’s support system. The care givers are all very professional, friendly and trustworthy. Mom’s primary caregiver is not just there to do a “job”, we consider her as part of our family!

these people are air heads they took care of my mother and they just fed her bananas for the whole day ? I would not let them take care of my dog. Do not hire these people you will be sorry

My mother has recently transitioned into an assisted living facility, and she has hired Home Instead caregivers to come in for 3 hours every Saturday and Sunday morning to provide additional one-on-one care. Her caregivers provide companionship and assistance with walking, exercising, and other tasks she can no longer do on her own. She looks forward to the arrival of the Home Instead caregivers who are very thoughtful and kind to her and help alleviate the boredom that occurs in a continuing care environment. Home Instead provides very professional caregivers who take their jobs seriously. She had previously used their services for more than a year while she was still living independently. We have always been very satisfied with the efficiency and helpfulness of the office personnel as well as the quality of the individual caregivers.

I was provided this service as a gift from several family members. I had extensive,quite debilitating shoulder surgery and the help my caregiver provided was excellent in every way, I am an RN and have never experienced or needed care like this before. Every person I dealt with from the billing person, manager and my wonderful caregiver was kind, courteous and compassionate. Having been a nurse for over 39 years, I have seen many caregivers without that compassion and dedication. I was so very grateful to my family for doing this for me and the staff of Homestead Senior Care for providing this service. I have recommended and will continue to recommend this service to any i meet who might need it. God bless you all.

I have been very pleased with the help that I have received from my caregiver. She is always on time, with a smile, and ready for whatever task is at hand. I have been using Home Instead for over a year and I would recommend it to anyone who has a need for these services.

My mother is currently receiving in home care from this provider's office to the care giver that assists my mother with daily chores and care, has been professional and sensative to our needs. Much care was taken by my sister and I interviewing potential companies and we know we made the right choice with Home Instead. Home Instead has provided us with comfort knowing that our mother is in good hands. Highly recomend Home Instead Senior Care.

My 94 year old father has been housebound for the last three years. The Home Instead Care Giver, Linda, is the highlight of his day.
Not only does she provide the care he requires, but they have developed such a relationship that the companionship is of the highest caliber.
The office is always professional and efficient. I am always informed of any schedule irregularities and have NEVER been left without a caregiver shift not covered (unlike another local company I used prior to Home Instead).
We wholeheartedly vote this service the highest rating.

I am more than satisfied with everyone I have worked with from Home Instead. They are easy to be with and very professional. I need help with some of the daily tasks around the house and everything is done just the way I want it. I recommend them to everyone I talk to and will continue to use them myself. Anyone who is looking for assistance as a caregiver or as someone home bound should absolutely ask for an interview with Home Instead.

My mom is able to stay in her own home because of the wonderful help she is getting from Mary at Home Instead. You can not put a price on a wonderful friend like her. She does whatever my mom needs, laundry, errands, doctor visits, meals, dishes, ect. I think my mom prefers her to me! The company is first rate, very businesslike, great service with even late notice. Go no further in your search for in-home care! Thank you, Home Instead!

My experience with Home Instead has been wonderful. My mom who has Parkinson's and dementia lives with me and Home Instead has provided me with a fabulous caregiver to take care of her for the hours that I'm at work. I've been with Home Instead for about 1 1/2 years and I'm very impressed with the management staff. They are always there to listen and take of any issues for the client. My mom's caregiver has an enormous heart filled with compassion and patience. She has taken a load off my shoulders while I'm at work. I have tried several companies but Home Instead seems to be the most organized and tries to find the perfect match for the client. I highly recommend their services, they will bring peace and comfort to your life.

I am very pleased with the 3 people that tend to me from Home Instead. Every one is pleasant, kind and very helpful. It puts my family at ease knowing that I am not alone and my needs being taken care that I can no longer do. I appreciate the excellent meals that are prepared for me since I don't cook. Would recommend highly to anyone that would prefer to stay in their home but not quite up to doing all the daily tasks.

I am providing in-home care for my sister-in-law, and we are VERY pleased with the care given by Home Instead. The care-giver is a kind, caring, responsible person who is more than an employee; she is a friend. She is eager to do whatever she can to help my sister-in-law and her family. When the first care-giver did not show up one day, Home Instead immediately handled the situation. They sent someone else right away, dismissed the person and provided a wonderful replacement. I whole-heartedly recommend Home Instead for your loved one. You will be very happy with the care given.

My experience with Home Instead has been wonderful. It is so nice to see a smiling face appear to help with daily chores. the help is very efficient and only needs to hear once then it is done every time they come. My husband and I are very happy and plan to use their services more and more. I recommend people who need help or company to start with Home Instead senior Care.

In my experience with Home Instead Senior care I would recommend this service to anyone who needs home assistance. The caregiver I worked with was very kind and attentive to all my needs. They are there to help with anything you may need and not just there to make money. They are really truely caring people and spend time helping out with many tasks including medication reminders, cleaning, cooking, feeding, house work, some light yard work and other things that you may need assistance with. They are also there for companionship. It is nice to have someone there with you when you are alone just to talk with or play games or even watch tv together. I know a client that goes walking with her caregiver just to get out og the house and get some exercise while feeling safe knowing she is not walking alone. I would recommend this service to anyone who needs assistance.
