About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

I'm using Home Instead. Tammy, my caregiver, is the greatest. She anticipates my every need and takes care of everything that there is to do. They provide caregiving. She takes me to doctors' appointments and takes me to the VA to get whatever I may need with them. She will also do some grocery shopping and she goes to a local cafeteria and gets me food. I live alone and I don't drive, and she comes here five days a week.

I've been using Home Instead for almost a couple of years now. Their service is good. They try to take care of me, fix my meals, run the sweeper, do the washing, and mop the floors. I'm using them seven days a week. Scheduling is good. The billing system is fine. I get the bill every two weeks. My caretaker, Regina, is very, very good, and I would recommend her to anybody.

We were in a bad situation with my mother having late stage Alzheimers, she fell and broke her hip. After her time in the hospital, we had to decide whether or not to send her back to her regular memory care home, or to a step down care facility. Everyone felt that my mother would not do well going to a regular step down facility since they are not necessarily skilled in the memory care parts of what she needed, and we wanted her to feel like she was going "home" to her usual residence where the staff and residents all know her and would help her heal. They however, needed extra help to make sure my mother did not try to stand up and walk on her broken hip (Alzheimers patients forget they can't just stand up on a broken hip and continually try to), Home Instead offered our perfect solution - they sent carers out 24/7 just to be with my mother and keep eyes on her at all times, something a regular memory care unit can not provide, as staff is already spread thin with covid. Home Instead employees were amazingly helpful, cheerful, and there to do whatever was needed. We are grateful for you, Home Instead!

My father became a a patient just after Thanksgiving. It was the final page of his life. Betty was very concerned about my father and about the fact that I had been the main caregiver the last 4 years. Being Thanksgiving week, help was hard to find. Betty kept me informed. Dad came home from the hospital on Wednesday afternoon on meds every hour. I was on my own until help arrived on Friday. Chris was very understanding of the situation. He put me at ease and was very professional. He turned Dad with such gentleness that I felt comfortable enough to go home for some much needed sleep. Dad died the following morning. Chris made the necessary phone calls for us. While this was only 1 shift, I would definitely recommend this group to care for your loved one. They really do care unlike another agency which helped during my mother's care.

You can expect a first good meeting with the owner of company, and from there the caregivers have given a good hand in helping me thru life's aging process. The caregiver arrives on time. The caregiver scheduler could do a little better on scheduling by notifying the client that a schedule change has occurred. Other than that it is a good company.

We got Home Instead Senior Care, and I think it's excellent. I've been really happy with the owner. They come in on a regular basis twice a week, and those are two days I'm out of town. They sleep with my mom, make her breakfast, and make sure she has her coffee and pills.

I am very grateful for the service I have recieved from Home Instead Senior Care. They are always very attentive to my needs and all the caregivers are great company! They care a lot about their clients and are very reliable. I would recommend this company to anyone. Helpers have been prompt, caring and very helpful to my mother. I felt the ladies we're honest and trustworthy and took a personal interest in providing my mother with the care she needed without making her feel embarrassed or incapable of taking care of herself. They involved her in making a meal or doing a chore when she felt up to helping out. Home Instead has been a true blessing to our family.

Before my parent agreed to have Home Instead come in to their home it was grimy. The caretakers and management of Home Instead have made the house safer and much cleaner. They have been good companions to my parents. The caretakers and management have all been kind and helpful to me and my siblings as well. They have been very good about alerting me to ongoing problems and excellent in informing me about emergencies. I am very grateful that the staff has stayed at the emergency room with my parent, and even more grateful that they have attempted to visit my parent in the hospital.

Your staff was amazing. Our mother continues to rave about the service you gave her. The last caregiver that was helping her saved her life. Mom was dehydrated that if the caregiver wasn't there we would have lost her. The caregiver was a true hero as she informed the correct people to get her the medical attention she needed.

Home Instead provided caregivers in the morning. In the evening they’re there to help them with showers, and putting them to bed at night. The caregivers are great.

I used the services of Home Instead Senior Care for my mom. They visited my mom every other week and did some housekeeping. The girl was very sweet, very good and mom was comfortable with her. They had been quite good and superb. It's a learning process and so far it was good.

I was searching for a Home Care Agency that can provide care for my father four to five hours a day and I was able to find Home Instead Senior Care. Their service is good. I have no problems with them. They've been courteous and they match up to my father and they handle them very well. They are very compatible with them. What's good is that they are very adjustable to our schedule if it has to change. We have been with them for two months and I have no complaints and we are happy with their service.
