The Cherished Companions client evaluation begins with a free assessment to determine your individual needs. It's our goal to work with you to create a unique plan of care. In order to meet that goal and increase client satisfaction, we carefully select the right caregiver for you; we seek to closely match the personalities and interests of our staff and our clients, in order to provide the most harmonious, compassionate care possible

We've had Cherished Companions Home Care LLC for a while now for my mom. They help her with dressing, bathing, some meal preparation, and toileting because she has some incontinence. I set up the medications at the beginning of each week, but the caregiver distributes the meds. So it's already all set up, she just has to open up the pill container and give it to mom. The caregiver is very good, very caring, and very compassionate. She's done it for 20 years, and she's very patient; she has patience beyond belief. The office gets right back to you as far as communication goes. They do the interface with insurance and take care of that; they track those hours. When it comes to a long healthcare policy, there's a lot of paperwork involved, and they coordinate with the home caregiver, and they submit all that paperwork so you don't have to worry about that. I looked at possibly hiring somebody myself, and found out that you're responsible for taxes, worker's comp, all that stuff, and all that is taken care of when we went to this agency. I know for a fact that the owner came out himself one day, and helped with the interview and all that process, so he's a very caring person. So from the top down, they set an example.

I liked it, because it gave me a sense of security and freedom.
I think that they could improve on matching the clients with the caregivers. They made him uncomfortable.

They come in and help by changing the bed and getting dressed. They make sure that she eats and take her medications.

My mom doesn't like anyone, but I feel the caregivers really help her. The caregiver cleans up around the house.

We have someone staying overnight which means I don't have to get up during the night, which would be several times so I get to sleep. We're not used to having another person around. They try to accommodate what we do and how we want stuff done.

When the services were done right they were good. Sometimes when one of the caregivers was ill it was hard to find a good replacement. There wasn't always a lot of reliability with their substitutes. They were short-staffed. Cherished is still better than the other agencies that we worked them.
Sometimes there are a lot of last-minute changes that happened because of COVID-19.

The most helpful was that they had the ability to staff things immediately, even on short notice.
They have some poor communication. There is no communication between between parties and individuals, pertaining to my mom as a client and her needs.

I have to have this young lady come or else I wouldn't have groceries.
The only problem I have is scheduling the young lady that comes. She's so busy and sometimes our schedules conflict. I have a feeling they don't have enough employees to cover the area.

I have to do too much work. We have them because she is in assisting living and we cannot go in so the substandard care is better than no care at all.
The owner said that the care would be consistent and competent and we have not found that.

It's been very positive. He has to get in and out of bed a lot. The wounds continue to be shifted, which is great. The caregiver is good at doing that.
I understand that it's hard to get coverage and they've tried to make it consistent. They've recently tried to work it out and we really appreciate that continuity of care because there's a lot that needs to be done for him. It's challenging to instruct new caregivers on how to help.

I've used them, but I didn't go out that often. They did their job well, whatever I asked they did.
I had a problem when I had to call and ask who was coming. I wanted to know who was coming and at what time.

They are amazing, and very caring. We had hospice, and she was not doing well, and when they came, it has been a game changer. She no longer has hospice.
They are always on time and they are patient with the difficult client.

It puts less on me and the other caregivers. It's an extra set of eyes and hands for my father.
I did have a few mishaps when people didn't show up. It puts me in a bind because we count on those two hours during the week.

Some caregivers are better than others. Some of the personalities of the caregivers cause some distress to my mother.
When we call them for information, they have the bad habit of not returning phone calls.

We have had things broken and food eaten out of our refrigerator and freezer.
They could actually be more active in participating with my husband. A lot of them sit themselves in front of the TV or pull out their bookwork before I even leave. I would leave during the night, and my husband needs to be helped during the night. They don't pay much attention to my husband or make conversation with my husband. They could be much more attentive.

They have been immensely helpful. I don't need the personal care most people need, but she has helped me organize things to make my home more comfortable and safe.
The best thing they could do would be to make sure their caregivers meet the demands of the client that hires them. The first caregiver they sent was absolutely the wrong fit.

The care has helped me greatly, but I need more of it. I took therapy about a week ago, and I have never felt good since. They did not take an x-ray before the therapy, so I don't know how they can say that they are old fractures. I have never had so much pain in all my life. I just want relief.
I like the care being provided by me. They are here as much as they can to a point. I might need more care because I have arthritis in my back and multiple old fractures.

There are too good. They do too much for my dad that he is now so dependent on the caregivers. I would like them to allow him to be more independent. However, I don't think that has anything to do with the caregivers, my dad is just very stubborn.
I like that they are there when you need them. They are very accommodating.

It gives me a lot of peace of mind, and it allows my loved one to stay at their home. It gives me comfort that someone is with my loved one while my loved one is taking a shower.
Their availability has been great, and they don't tell us at the last minute that someone can't show up. We really count on them.

They are overall excellent. I have a physical therapist and home therapist coming to my home. I am very pleased with my aide because she has a pleasant personality. I get better physical care at home than at the nursing home I was in.

She is kind of resistant to the care. They need to find the right person to help her. It has helped my life so I don't have to do some of the things.
I had some very disappointing experiences with them. I don't know what they have done to correct the things. They could have better follow up about how people are doing and keeping track of their people.

My father liked the features that they presented. He liked the fact that some of the schedule would be split up. There were periods of time when they would come in the morning and evening. My parents were in their 80's and it was difficult to keep up with their care.

All of the people are very knowledgeable, friendly, concerned, and anything that you would be looking for in a companion to help you in your home. The care provides a way of helping him get up with less strain on my back.

They come when they are supposed to come, and they fulfill their duties pretty well. However, the caregivers have been inconsistent, and I would appreciate the same people. The services offer me a lot of support. James gets the help he needs, and I appreciate that a lot.
